Where he can sign and make the NFL league minimum. Hello Shedeur Sanders!
I’m looking at these NFL rosters and third string qbs and wondering where the heck Diego Pavia is.
Yeah, you never know what will happen in that game! I went to so many OU-Texas games over the years - I miss them! I was lucky to get tickets in the lottery every year I was at UT. It must be even harder now to get tickets.
I’d hate to think he’s already given up. Some of these slugs you see in the NFL make you wonder, how, vs. giving him a shot. But…
I do not believe that he has a good reputation due to his thuggish, gangsterish behavior and childish comments with respect to his Heisman candidacy.
Could play for peanuts in the CFL or in the UFL. However, the CFL pays starters less than NFL practice squads. Plus, the CFL pays in Canadian dollars (is that even real money ?). UFL players get paid just $6,400 per game which is not worth the risk of injury.
P.S. In addition to his lack of height, NFL teams do not want to deal with his negatives with respect to his personality. Worse than Johnny Manziel. The NFL guards its public image with ferocity so I doubt that Pavia would be welcome by any team.
His behavior was juvenile and offensive but we’ve allowed because caught on video, knocking females out to play.
If he was 6’2, he’d be on a team.
The purpose of the CFL/UFL would be to prove himself.
He could get an insurance policy, just like in college.
I’m sure this is about the measurables. Baltimore cut him before camp even started. They saw something…but I gotta think he’d be better than half these no name school QBs on rosters through the NFL. These QBs weren’t great in college either.
Starting NFL QBs Kyler Murray & Bryce Young are also listed as 5’10" tall as is Diego Pavia.
Doug Flutie was also listed as being 5’10" tall, but he did have to prove himself elsewhere if I recall correctly.
CFL has two starting QBs listed as 5’11" tall, but they could actually be an inch or two shorter.
Yeah he’s shorter. I hope he gets a chance. I saw the streaming video with the mom and daughter. I don’t see who is paying millions for that.
I love the guy. He’s exciting. Hope he’s not done.
Recently read an interesting article about the difficulty Power 4 teams are having regarding recruiting & keeping back-up quarterbacks. Ole Miss & U Oregon are both fortunate to have superb back-ups. Wonder if there will be a one year or two year delay entering the NFL as QBs are well paid in college. Common for starting Power 4 QBs to be paid in the area of $2 million per season (back-ups/second stringers get paid about $600,000 per season in the Power 4). Suspect that many will stay in college as long as they have eligibility.
He’s a budget Johnny Manziel. ![]()
Funny but no comparison. He’s not a criminal, drugged up, stupid human. Just obscenely arrogant.
Don’t disagree but Johnny Football won the Heisman, as a redshirt freshman. Diego was runner up and acted like preschooler.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Pavia’s family. i think it plays a role in teams not wanting to invite that scene into their organizations.
And he is a nice guy.
I don’t think Flutie is relevant. Different era but he played in the usfl and cfl. Seemingly Pavia would have a path if he wanted to try.
Flutie had a long path to the nfl.
Actually, Flutie and Pavia aren’t relevant to college football in 2026.
Apologies to @Youdon_tsay, but I’m rooting for OU today.
If OU wins, Michigan’s 17-10 win against OU will look a little better for some obscure bowl game (played at 3 AM mid-week) that Michigan may get invited to at the end of the season. ![]()
UCLA remains undefeated with an upset victory over Oregon in Eugene.
Oklahoma wins on a last second FG. Great game.
It’s a crazy year !! I don’t recall one this crazy in a while but my memory is short.
Maybe saved Venables job.
