3 Year Research Class for BS/MD?

Hey, my school offers a 3 year research class, and since I am certain I want to be a doctor, I was wondering how heavily weighted programs will see this. Will it depend on my project? Thanks!

Most people who get into top BS/MD programs have some type of research. I’ve only seen it done as an extracurricular though so I’m not sure how in class would compare to out of class. I think it would definatly be beneficial though, even if you have to end up supplementing it with some outside of class, as it will give you a nice introduction to build on even if the class itself doesn’t give you a leg up in admissions.

@Madeline25 sorry for the late response, but I just found out about it at an informational meeting last week; you analyze documents and stuff in class, and do the research out of school.

I still stand by my advice. It sounds like cool class!

@Madeline25 if I didn’t take it, that would be three more AP’s, and I finally got a positive response from a professor saying I can work with them, so the class would almost be obsolete. It would bring down my class rank because it is regular weightage. Also, there is a new multivariable calc class that I could take…
