So… finals week. Here we are again. Is everybody as stressed as I am? I’m living on the edge with a B+ in 2 of my classes, and my school doesn’t differentiate between an 89.9% and 80% when calculating GPA (on our transcript, there are no pluses or minuses), so these 2 classes are worth a lot. I’m a little ashamed that APES is one of them, considering how many consider it a “blowoff class”, but science is not my forte. I’ve invested too much time and sanity to lose my 4.0 now lol. How about you guys?
My legitimate state finals are after break. We have finished all of our material, so we are pretty much reviewing. I do have to say that the first semester was pretty easy for me. I would have to completely bomb my finals to lose my 4.0, so some wiggle room is nice
I really want at least a 95 on all my finals, but I think I’ve already missed at least 10 of the 200 points in the German exam. I’d have to get a 100 in the multiple choice section.
YES OMG IM SO STRESSED OUT
NOT REALLY ABOUT FINALS BUT STILL
Life. Life is stressing me the crap out. College applications and impending rejection letters. Ugh
My calc final goes into the gradebook by Friday…basically decides my grade
As for AP Lang…we’ll see how that goes tomorrow
If I take my math final tomorrow, it will literally lower my overall grade no matter how high I get on the final. So I can’t raise my math grade to an A.
Ending this semester off this 5B’s and 2A’s! WOOT senioritis!
Craig, you need to have more than just the midterm in the gradebook.
Isn’t 89.5 or above an A. That is weird.
Is my school the only one that makes finals worth only 10% of your grade? I am a senior now, and I don’t think I have ever studied or stressed about a final. This might have something to do with how much it is underperforming compared to other schools. I pretty sure I failed my final last year for spanish, but still ended the class with an A. Kind of makes my 4.0 GPA seem not so great when I think about what other students have to endure to earn their grade. But still, as I always say, “It is what it is.”
Freaking out because I was deferred from: SMU, Tulane, and Northeastern; then Rejected from Santa Clara University. Im freaking out that i was deferred from my early actions/safeties(except NEU) so ill probably end up at community college because I cant focus on my finals and im probably going to fail at life
@AcceptableName no mine is also only 10% off your grade
@AcceptableName Mine are 10% too.
I got a 98 on chem midterm, but that’s the only one I know so far. I’ve got English tomorow so that should be easy and hopefully I can get some of my physics project done after.
My finals are usually around 15% of my grade. @lolkar It depends if the teacher is in a good mood lol. I was supposed to have 2 finals per day, but school was cancelled today because of a bomb threat, so now I have 3 finals per day instead.
ALSO my teacher is ignoring all my emails and it’s really annoying and kind of rude ?? Gosh darn it
@ambitionsquared LAUSD much?
OMG… Everyone’s finals are only like 10% to 15% of their grade; my finals are 25% of our semester average. So much weight puts too much stress on a few questions. If you have a bad day, you can ruin your semester averages. The stress is only one of the problems with America’s testing culture.
@univbound101 OMG SAME! 25% is ridiculous. Except it wasn’t a few questions for me in German, it was 200. SMH.
@awesomepolyglot I had a final that was 30 questions long (pre-cal), but my French final will be 150 questions; missing a few questions can be the difference getting an A or a B.
Midterms are in January for me, which means I have all of winter break to procrastinate studying for them.
I’m jealous of all of you guys with 10% finals, mine are worth 20%. Its frustrating, because its enough to drop your grade a few points if you do really bad, but not enough to give them a good boost, either. I have several grades that are a point or less away from the next grade level, but I would need to get a 95+ on my final in order to raise them. >:U
I did horrible on my Anatomy final today! And I studied so hard! I needed an 80% in order to raise my grade to a B (the class is honestly probably the hardest class I have ever taken) and I scored a 70% so I’m taking home a C.
On the bright side, it is my last hard final. I have AP Gov and Drama tomorrow which will both be super easy.
