All of these are very good. Yes there is a hope but you’ll need to have a compelling application.
Unfortunately, Lafayette doesn’t give a waiver for the CSS profile so you should cross it out.
Minerva is peculiar (online classes but you’re with classmates in various global cities), make sure it matches what you want.
Loans count towards this, don’t they?
Proper loans, yes. Not a temporary loan to bump up your bank account balance to get a visa.
Only 8 schools in the US are need blind, which means they don’t take financial need into account for admissions purposes. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Dartmouth, Brown, Amherst, Bowdoin.
This is not to say that you won’t get funding elsewhere, in some form.
Again I suggest you look int Colleges that Change Lives ctcl.org
Also keep up with the news. Harvard has just been told it cannot enroll foreign students. This may happen at other schools. I am not going to get into whether this will hold or not through the courts. Just giving you the information that studying here is becoming increasingly complicated.
Correction…university of Notre Dame, and Washington and Lee should be added to this list.
BUT these are schools that are BOTH need blind for admissions and meet full need for all international students.
There are tons of colleges that are need blind…but they don’t guarantee to meet full need for all international students.
Deleted. See @thumper’s post above.
Colleges deal with international student financial aid in a number of different ways.
- There are 10 colleges (listed above) that are need blind for admissions AND meet full need for all accepted international students.
- There are colleges that are need aware for admissions (your need can be used when your application for admission is considered). But if accepted, the colleges meet your full need. For international students.
- There are need blind colleges that provide limited financial aid to international students.
- There are need aware colleges that provide limited financial aid to international students.
- There are colleges that do not provide a dime of need based aid to international students.
If you see “limited aid provided” this means just that. They don’t provide aid to every international student, and the pool of money to do so is limited.
So…you need to do some research.
Sorry that was sloppy! Yes those 8 are need blind and fund need for internationals.
