[
]Weaknesses: Why Tulane essay
[]Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Scores (It took 3 days to get my decision so assuming they barely read my essay
[
]Where else you are applying or have already applied: Many other schools (Tulane was my safety)
[li]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: Do the why Tulane essay even if it’s not great, get your app in EA[/li][/ul]

Hi! I applied on October 15th early action. 3.5 UW GPA, tons of demonstrated interest, 33 ACT score, strong essay. Still haven’t heard back from Tulane even though everyone else I know has. Should I be expecting a rejection?

thanks
I check a few times a day, beginning to feel anxious

Reminder to everyone: Don’t panic. There are still more than 2 weeks before the decisions deadline. We really don’t know how admissions chooses files to read; it could be completely random. When you get your decision relative to when others get it is most likely not indicative of what decision you will get.

We also don’t know how this year will differ from previous years. There could be many more applications (there’s likely at least some boost due to the influence of USNWR) and it might take more time for decisions to be released.

The bottom line is don’t worry too much about what the decision will be right now and remember that even if you don’t get into Tulane, you’ll do great wherever you go.

I will also add to this great advice that Tulane does not deny anyone admission at this stage. The “worst” decision will be a deferral. - fallenchemist

I’m trying not to panic so I thought posting on here would calm my nerves a little. I want to be realistic about my admission into Tulane since I don’t want to be too disappointed if I don’t get in. I think my SAT score is my weakest point CR 560 M 620 W 600, 93% GPA UW (I think that comes to be 3.7?). I will have taken 4 APs when I graduate. I wrote a “Why Tulane” Essay and I mentioned that I visited which definitely shows that I’m very interested.

I know I shouldn’t compare my stats to people on CC but I just can’t help it!!

@nycapp hey! yes, I’m from Manhattan too! I was just about to ask the same question until I saw your post. I have not received a letter or gibson notification yet and I applied on Oct 25th. I did EA, not SCEA.

if anyone from Manhattan has gotten a decision, can you post about it?

Congrats to everyone who has heard! I know I am beginning to sound crazy, but, my Gibson status hasn’t changed in almost two weeks, so indulge me if you will. Did anyone get an email directing you to check your Gibson? Do you all just check your Gibson account randomly throughout the day or week and one day an acceptance appeared? I’m thinking I’m just going to try to not check for a while, although, it feels impossible. Did anyone get an acceptance in the mail before Gibson notification? Tulane is one of my top two choices, so, for me, hearing I’m in or that I’m deferred is important.
Thanks!

@nycapp I’m in the same position as you! I have been waiting anxiously for my Gibson status to change; I submitted my app on November 14. I’m pretty sure you just have to randomly check your portal throughout the day to see if it’s updated, they do not send any emails directing you to check Gibson.

Reminder: The template for posting your acceptance is on Page 1 Post #5 of this thread. Just remove the space between the left bracket and the next letter – fallenchemist

New York?!! Where?

Did anyone from Northern NJ get a decision?!?

The Tulane site says that the merit scholarships range from $10,000 to $32,000. Has anyone received a scholarship less than the $20,000 Academic Achievement Award? FC, do you know how plentiful these are?
