ADMISSION DECISIONS FALL 2016 (CLASS OF 2020)

I also did not do the “Why Tulane?” essay.

@fallenchemist Sure enough, my message changed back.

ADMITTED! 3.6 GPA, 30 ACT. OOS.

I have yet to receive my admission.
I hope I get in!
I have a 4.7 weighted gpa, 3.9 unweighted and a 32 on my ACT

if we have not recieved our admission yet do you think it means our chances of getting in are lowere?

@fallenchemist

@hart0122 Hey, not fallenchemist here, but I can say that while there is a higher proportion of people who get deferred in the last few days (simply because that’s when they release all the deferrals), an individual chances don’t change. So if a person is going to be deferred, that will happen in the last few days, but if your application is going to be accepted, then timing of the release is only based on when your admissions counselor picks up your application.

Sorry if that’s sort of incoherent, not sure I articulated it quite right.

@usualhopeful thank you for the response! do you think my stats are good enough to get accepted? I have a 32 on my act and a 4.7 weighted gpa

@hart0122 I don’t really have any qualifications, seeing as I’m just another applicant, but your stats seem great! The GPA is very good, sounds like a lot of course rigor, and your ACT is near the top of the middle 50 (or maybe at the top? I think they changed a bit last year, not sure). Did you do the “Why Tulane” essay?

@usualhopeful yes I did! the only thing I did not do was send a teacher recommendation because I used the Tulane application through their website and it did not specify the requirement of a recommendation

Is it possible that they won’t get to some applications and defer them, due to the increase of the applications this year?

Daughter finally got her envelope today after applying August1. Presidential Scholar! She is very excited. Tulane may be within her financial reach. 2270 SAT. Class rank of 42/504. I see a trip to New Orleans in our future.

@isalia

No, absolutely not. What they would do if they felt they couldn’t get to them all and do them justice is send a note of apology to the remaining applicants and extend the date to around Christmas. I seem to remember that happening once before, or something like it. But I think they will get it done.

Wow, the patience of a saint, @Dallas14

Seems like it is meant to be. Congrats to her and the family.

@lonetreegrad

I am very happy to hear Tulane is back in its top position on her list. I think after all that, it just must be right. Great scholarship, PTA or no PTA, but we will hope for the former result for sure.

@fallenchemist Thanks. Yes, we are hoping for the PTA. :slight_smile:

Finished my app Nov. 28, heard back quickly (probably because I’m instate)
