Praying I hear back again this Friday. We all deserve an answer.
Hoping we all receive good news
Hey, guys! I just wanted to drop by to let everyone know my experience, for reference. I applied in February and received an acceptance I believe a week or two ago. Stats are around 3.8 GPA, top 10-20%, and a 32 ACT. If anyone has any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer. Good luck all!!!
I genuinely feel bad for a lot of you guys that were deferred. I was deferred with a 27 act, strong extra extracurriculars, and 3.9 uw gpa. Everything is pretty good but my act is definitely on the lower side. Meanwhile people with the same stats as me but a 32 act are also deferred which simply makes no sense. If I was deferred with that high of an act, I would lose my mind
@datdudetd unfortunately the college admissions process of far from perfect and oftentimes quite unfair. For me my SATs land in the 50th percentile for OSU, and my GPA is fine but not amazing. What stinks the most is that many kids in my school went through high school taking regular classes and cheating off of each other to receive high grades thus boosting their GPA. For me, I have worked my hardest and done things on my own, and most importantly I challenged myself. I’m sure this happens at many high schools across the US, I just wish it didn’t boil down to test scores and GPA when they are both proven to be poor indicators of a students future academic success. I think you will be fine, good luck! Don’t stress too much! Hopefully this long wait is worth it in the end
I wonder how likely I am to get accepted with 3.89 unweighted GPA and a 26 ACT if I’m an Arts and Sciences major. . .
Spoke with Admissions this morning and looks like next Friday via Portal and USPS.
@MimiWong does that mean nothing this Friday 3/22?? Thank you for calling.
@kesnyder5 I think admissions meant that we will know by next Friday. I’m pretty sure there were 3 rounds of decisions in March of last year. (Meaning there will probably be a round this Friday)
@datdudetd Yeah, I was deferred with a slightly lower GPA than yours, but a 31 ACT, strong extracurriculars and great personal essay. I was accepted to Case Western but simply can’t afford it so OSU is really my best choice. But this process is killing me.
I called admissions and the representative said that he doesn’t know exactly when the next wave would be. He said there could be something this week, but he doesn’t know for sure
@ca1171 sounds like he was hinting he just didn’t want to give it away that there would be decisions LOL
@oj2018 ya I hope so. He also said that the admissions office usually doesn’t tell the representatives if there is a wave until the day of
@ca1171 maybe I’ll call again on Friday and see if they will confirm that they’re releasing decisions or not on that day
If anyone finds some information out regarding when the next wave is, let us know. I’m getting so anxious now :((
How do people know the number of acceptances this year and the number of people enrolled so far? Do they release that information?
@GoBuckeyes11 There is a weekly report that OSU puts out. I can’t find it via google, but it has been posted in this thread a couple of times. Happy hunting!
Ok got it thanks Im gonna try to find it. Hoping they release decisions friday
If you haven’t yet found the weekly enrollment report here it is below:
Judging from the latest list it’s not likely more will be admitted. They are already over the number of admitted from last year. Doesn’t appear to be any more room. I’m guessing if anything many will be waitlisted on Friday. Sucks for all my son’s friends who applied in October and were deferred on January 31.
