Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2023

@oj2018 major?

@ganalemon Undecided Arts & Sciences on the Pre-Law track

rejected from main campus :confused: in the email they said that their enrollment is at capacity… good luck everyone !!

@yeehawsrtksrtk3, What was your major?

After 8 months of checking, waiting, and hoping I came home from work to find that I was rejected in a lovely little email explaining that they were “at capacity”. It took them 8 months to come to a decision. Their admissions department is incredibly inconsiderate and rude. I talked to a admissions representative and they told me it would be a better idea to go to a local college instead of moving to a regional campus. Yea right like I am going to run the risk of getting rejected a second time. I don’t care what they tell me, I am going to their regional campus and they can see me in a year. Over the course of these few months I have realized that their behavior has given me something that I take with me throughout my life. That something is a deep hatred for the school and its constituents. Over the course of my senior year, like most seniors, you start to become more careless. Now my drive has increased tenfold and I want nothing but to prove them wrong and laugh at their department. So if an admissions rep stumblers on this post, I say thank you. To anyone else out their upset, don’t let it get to you. They have no idea the hard working people they turn away, your just a number on a sheet to them. I know it sounds cliche, but use your frustration and sadness to your advantage to achieve your goals.

Major: Chemistry (Arts and Sciences)

i felt that ^

If they are at capacity then why haven’t they rejected everyone off waitlist yet? To me this doesn’t make sense. I just called admissions and they said students who accepted waitlist will hear back ON June 1 with an email about a decision. But people have been hearing back off waitlist already? So confused!!

I am not sure what to do next. I am not sure if I should go to Newark and wait a year for main or should I just go to community college and try to transfer in the spring? Thoughts??

I’d go to UC but I missed the deadline to confirm. This sucks

@oj2018 I am guessing they’ve already selected their few off the waitlist and are waiting to send the emails until June 1. In the mean time they are rejecting everyone as rolling rejections.

@scienceroxs Last year it looked like they accepted a small number of students off waitlist in the first week, then sent out a bunch of rejections, and then a wave of a some acceptances a couple weeks after. I’m not going to give up hope just yet!

@scienceroxs if it were me I would go to branch campus. You are then already considered an Ohio State student with access to all facilities and activities on main campus. I think that even means football tickets. Also there will be no problems with any transferring of classes and you can easily transition to main campus.

@oj2018 Wishing you the best of luck! update us :slight_smile:

@bhs1978 thank you for your opinion I really appreciate it. I will take that into consideration.

My Daughter was deferred, then waitlisted. She now is admitted to Newark campus and not the main campus. It was along wait for this. Now she is actively looking for a room mate. Does anyone know the best way to find one at this late date.? Too late for the dorms. Thanks all.

Is anyone’s status still “waitlist”? Really praying I hear back soon!

Go to Newark. The year will fly by. OSU has a HUGE number of transfers. You will not be alone! OSU main campus is worth the wait.

@NewarkBound I am in the same boat. I would like to see the people attending newark this fall within a Facebook page or a portal but I do not think anything is out there.

does anyone have any idea if they might release a batch of waitlist decisions before June 1??? still waiting to hear back!

I’m wondering if they will admit anyone else off waitlist…are those still waitlisted oos?
