Admissions Discussion/Decisions - Class of 2023

Theres a buckeye bound newsletter ? I missed that info. How do I get the newsletter ? My son was admitted about 2-3 weeks ago. Thanks.

@lindy29 thank you, and yeah how do I get the newsletter as well?

I applied in mid november after the EA deadline and still havent gotten anything, I dont really know if this could be good or bad I have a 30 act and 4.1 gpa applied to CS&IS

what is the average cost after aid for out of state applicants

The information from the university is sent in a systematic way. Once you get your official notification of acceptance in the mail there is a timeline as to what you can expect in the next 12 weeks. My son applied EA and heard of acceptance in first wave. Next came an welcome letter from the college or school which you’ve been enrolled. Then, general letter from University president. Followed by email from Hons/Scholars status if you applied for that program. He received a letter from the History Dept. about their undergrad program. You’ll get several notifications/postcards of visits on campus for admitted students. The last communication was the Buckeye Bound newsletter which detailed Learning communities, Buckeyes Blog and First Year Experience and info on the digital flagship university. I’m sure this timeline will be greatly condensed with the approach of May 1st decision date. Don’t panic you’ll receive the same info soon.

my son was also accepted first wave and then to honors a few weeks later. We haven’t received any information about admitted student events or newsletters.

Thanks lindy29. Seems like I got everything so far that you discussed but the newsletter and that should be next.

Any information on when we might hear about the buckeye scholarship ?

Did every deferred applicant receive that same email/ has anyone found out any further information about the deferral process?

I called today regarding scholarship. The woman said that the majority of the scholarships have been sent out. There is a small possibility that some will be issued on a rolling basis, but if you haven’t received something about it yet, chances are slim. Which is strange because I haven’t read about too many offers.

cllp2023 I called today. End of February

@otto1969 - End of February for what? Scholarship information?

@otto1969 Yes, I affirm your statement as well- I reluctantly phoned admissions first, to inquire about National Buckeye timeline…they said awards are on a “rolling basis” and would continue through the end of February. I appreciated this reassurance. I further validated this opinion by calling the financial aid office as well. They confirmed that awards were still being sent out on a rolling basis. These awards are mailed via snail mail, and the online student accounts will not show these awards until, perhaps, as late as March. These two responses felt sincere to me, and we are remaining prayerful and hopeful that there is still an opportunity to receive these life-changing funds!!

@Mommartha…Yes, scholarship awards :wink:

Thanks everyone for the information on the scholarships. They just accepted my son 2-3 weeks ago. We applied in Oct. His scores are well within the buckeye range. Guess we will just wait and see .

That’s what I figured. The woman I spoke to seemed extremely irritated. Maybe she was sick of answering the same questions, I’m not sure! Staying hopeful!

For all admitted students, there is a FB page for the parents. Tell them to search out “Ohio State University (OSU) Parents”. There are 3 admission questions, and if you are admitted but not enrolled, they will need to send a screen shot of proof of acceptance to the admins to be admitted. LOTS of good info is shared there.

I received an email saying that all scholarships will be sent out by the end of February. I also have not heard of many people who have received scholarships so I would not worry if you have not received one yet. For people asking about the ipad pros, im pretty sure we get those at orientation in the summer.

When does regular decisions come out

@heading2college7 wait enrolled students get ipads?
