UM, I think @Christian888 is playing with us. 2.8 GPA, 13 ACT and no extra curriculars? I don’t buy it. I would bet this is BS. Because @Christian888 also claims a friend with a 2.5 GPA and a 10 ACT was accepted. I seriously doubt there were any decisions released so far today. And I certainly would ignore this particular poster!
Considering no one else posted any acceptance or denials today other than him. I would agree.
It’s of course a joke. Just wait till you get an email to check your portal.
such torture…
see you guys next week lol
Awful. Taking it to the last day when 17k others have been accepted already.
i get that they don’t owe us anything but it sucks that they don’t even notify what days releases are. even a simple tweet saying “hey we’re releasing some decisions today”. at least that would take away the stress of constantly checking for the first few hours
So frustrating to wait like this!!
I really thought they would release today…
Me too
Well no more wondering we know it will be next Friday.
And it will be a deferral. More waiting.
@aprvr and @sssam145267 daughter said she got a letter
FYI…Last year my daughter applied well before November 1, and didn’t get deferred until March. Finally denied in April or May. The waiting was torture. I feel bad for anyone going through it. Last year I saw kids with 23 Act get accepted and kids with 29-31 denied. I swear it’s like a lottery. I followed this site faithfully last year from November-May.
Did your daughter apply EA? I don’t understand how she didn’t hear until March!!!
Yeah that doesn’t sound right. Something must have been missing that moved her with regular decision applicants.
Looking at @wannababuckeye ’s posting history, looks like her D was deferred from EA, and then in March, got waitlisted.
Yes, I apologize you are right. My daughter applied early decision, early October for the November 1 deadline. She was deferred on the last day in January where they sent out a bunch of deferrals pretty much all on the same day. It was the last day, last batch of answers to the people who applied early decision. The email states that they hadn’t time to review all they needed to, and needed more time or some bs like that. You can go back in the archives from last year and read the anger in the posts from people. And for all those who applied for scholarships too, it will be a waiting game as well. Last year I know kids who didn’t apply early decision and got answers before many people who applied early decision.
Deferred - end of January, waitlisted end of March, and finally denied 2nd week of May.
Which I could post pictures. Emails received Feb. 4, March 29, and May 8.
Email received 2/4
Dear :
We are in the process of evaluating your application to The Ohio State University and have completed an initial review. A final decision has not yet been made on your admission to the university. Once the application deadline has passed and all applications have been considered, we will conduct a second review of your application.
We understand and appreciate your interest in the status of your application and you can continue to check your status online. We strongly encourage you to regularly check the email you indicated on the Common App as we may send time-sensitive information in the coming weeks. Final decisions will be made on a rolling basis during February and March and you will receive a final decision by the end of March. We promise to make every effort to contact you immediately once a decision is made.
Thank you for your patience as well as your interest in Ohio State.
Guess my daughter will accept one of the other 6 colleges that she was accepted to months ago. This is really disheartening and sad for kids still waiting to hear. I hope in the future that OSU changes their admission process. Picking a college is stressful enough. It’s not as though my daughter is waiting to hear from Harvard or Princeton. It’s a bit ridiculous. Good luck to the kids still waiting!!
Honestly this isn’t that bad to wait for end of January. Maryland is end of January as well and my state school(UCONN) doesn’t let anyone know anything until they send releases starting March 1. Now that’s a long wait…
