Engineering is NOT full…

Anyone know if Agribusiness is full? I rarely see anything about this major.

I haven’t seen much of AgBus majors but tamu admits of the student, not the major. We won’t know if it’s full (for sure) until someone who lists AgBus as first major… gets in… and either gets AgBus or gets 2nd choice. That’s the tell… or until no more full admit offers go out.

good point, you just hear so many people say their major and I don’t think i’ve heard any agribusiness.

Good morning! We had a change in housing plans for Fall 2024, and as a result we have a 4BR/2 Bath spot available at Callaway House for the entire academic year. Callaway House states that they usually fill up by April, so please let me know if interested. Callaway House handles the transfer internally, so it’s all on the up and up. Someone mentioned their daughter had a room in Hullabaloo their freshman year that overlooked Kyle Field. If that was your child can you send me a message. Thanks!

407 overlooks Kyle Field.
Dorm selection doesn’t take place until April, you’ve got plenty of time.

Thanks! Just making notes!

He forgot to note that when we went back and toured northside dorms again so he could rank his preferences. He would prefer a side not facing north gate.

Does anybody have any experience with the Corps of Cadets academic resources? Do they provide enough tutors to truly support the cadets? Do the different branches (Army, Air Force, Navy) provide additional tutors for contracted cadets? Is there help within the Corps for advanced math classes in the engineering curriculum?

@3rdGenAgCol i don’t have a student in the Corps, but we know a decent number of Corps and FTAB kids.
Our FTAB friends that are Mays students will tell you it’s All About the Engineering students. They definitely bend over backwards to help & support the Eng majors.

Hi, our DD was accepted to engineering. She did select to be considered for honors. Can anyone please share with us when the decisions will be sent out and if it’s a good program for engineering students? She hasn’t decided to apply to engineering honors (deadline is 2/15). Thank you for your help

Someone asked and they said engineering honors wouldn’t come out until after the deadline. App requires a teacher recommendation letter so make sure you get that link sent out early (link in application ).

@lisa-mom major/college specific HNR programs at A&M are great! They’re WAY better than UH (University Honors).
All HNR programs allow for early course registration…which is HUGE! Eng HNR can have smaller classes, too.
Eng HNR also has a dedicated dorm (tho not required).
A detailed application + teacher recommendation are required, and it never pays to wait to submit/apply/sign up for anything at A&M. If she’s interested in applying, she needs to get that application in asap!

Engineering Honors you need to apply as it is a separate application.

My son plans to apply for Engineering Honors. Is the Engineering Honors application reviewed by a separate committee from the admission committee? The reason I ask is because he would like to reuse some of his application essays for the honors application essays.

For example, “life event that has prepared you for college” essay on the application can also be the response for the “obstacles you have overcome” honors essay.

Thanks for your feedback.

@TexasFather deadline to apply is February 15.
It NEVER pays to wait for anything at A&M…

Looks like scholarships are rolling out. Our DD got the Lechner. Have your kid check the financial aid tab in Howdy.

Congrats! Make sure she ‘accepts’ it…they will definitely take it away if she doesn’t.

How do you accept? I’ll tell her to make sure she does. I’ve also read that you need to send them an email to thank them, but can’t find anywhere on who to send that to.

My Aggie did it all, I think there is some type of ‘accept’ button -it’s clear. No rush, but don’t wait until school starts to accept or decline.

As far as thank you…WAIT! That doesn’t happen until after fall semester starts, and every award/scholarship is different. Those that require a thank you will have VERY specific instructions.
Student will get instructions.
