Did any OOS admitted students get any substantial scholarship?
Are the merit scholarships for tuition only? Or can it be used towards on campus living?
@Curiousparent06 unless NMSF or in the Corps, OOS won’t get incoming scholarships.
@mere33 TAMU scholarships are primarily for tuition. With the exception of perhaps Century Scholars and Brown-I think those may include housing stipend.
If a student has a Tx Promise Fund (or whatever it is called) that pays tuition, a scholarship would then be applied to the bill-housing/meal plan/fees etc. Not sure how it is broken down, but it would be applied towards the bill. But an A&M scholarship is for tuition first.
thanks so much! We do have the texas tomorrow fund that covers tuition, so that is why I was asking. Good to know we can apply to housing too.
@mere33 not sure how they’ll apply it-housing, fees, etc-but it will be applied to the lump bill in September.
They’ll go over at NSC how to set up FlyWire-which is required. Basically it’s linked to a designated bank account. If there’s ever an overpayment, a scholarship might arrive after bill has been paid, etc-money goes back to FlyWire acct. A&M will never send a check.
They will go over this in great detail during NSC, and you can google it-don’t worry.

Congrats!!! 
I highly suggest both parents (if there are 2 parents) attend NSC. It’s a LOT of information.
And definitely don’t bring younger siblings (they’ll be scratching their eyes out in boredom 
).
Make sure to register/pay for each parent attending.
Right now, make sure your Aggie is getting into the habit of checking Howdy at least once a week. From spring break on, I’d check daily. There will be sooo much info sent to them. Super important they stay on top of things.
