Advice on Fall 2025 Transfer Application

I wish I would have known about the PTA earlier. He did not sign up for that. We came last fall and talked to a PE advisor and that wasn’t mentioned. Only he needed to complete the prerequisites.

Do you think it’s too late to call tomorrow admissions about this?

I actually don’t think the PTA would help him since PE isn’t listed as one of the majors. But, SB175 would have.

Sorry no he can’t do PTA after the fact. It’s a contract signed right after high school. But he’s an automatic admission just not sure if PE is automatic.

“Would have” or will? He falls under the HB

From what I understood when I read about SB 175, he should have stated in his application he was seeking admission with that. What is HB?
His status in AIS changed this morning to have updated his transfer audit for his spring grades. So, I’ll just keep hoping he’ll hear ASAP and is admitted!

He didn’t notate the top 10%? I would call admissions and ask about that.

lol SB not HB.

Haha! I’ll call tomorrow and ask. He did send his HS transcript in when he filled out the application that showed his ranking. I don’t know if they would have kept it on file from a year ago when we was auto admit?

He said on the common app when he was applying this time it did ask if he had graduated in his top 10% and he out yea.

Yes not yea

I was checking back to see if you knew if students with deferred grades had heard anything yet? I finally did hear back, and yes, he qualified for SB175.

Yes, I have had about 10 or more hear back with acceptance. I would have him call admissions and ask them to look at his app and make sure they have him designated as top 10% from high school.

He had called a couple of weeks ago and they said he was verified as top 10% and also core complete in his college transcript. Surely we will know something within the next week!

@Christi1993 Hi again! We still have not heard anything. I called again this morning and this time was told that it could be as late as the end of July to hear something. Each time it has been something different that I’ve been told. At this point I’m scared his application is lot or something. We need to be able to make a plan.:grimacing: Do you know if another phone number/person to call to make sure it isn’t lost other than the admissions number?

I’m so sorry, I do not have another number. end of July is insane to hear back. I’ve honestly never seen that. How would you do NSC if that were the case.

If it were me, I’d call as his parent with him there and ask them to “pull” his file. I’d even go so far as to say, “we spoke to someone last month and they said because he’s designated top 10%, he should hear soon”. It’s not necessarily what the said verbatim, but it is totally implied in my opinion. And if they still have to wait til end of July possibly, ask how New Student conference would work in that case.

Also, don’t talk to a student worker… politely ask for someone higher up.

I called again. The person I spoke to this time said he should hear something this week or next. I asked several times to speak someone else. He kept assuring me they would tell me the same thing. I asked abt the NSC that is next week, he said he could go to the last one for international/out of state student that isn’t until Aug 20. I told me to ask the question on AIS. He said yes, he did see he qualified for SB 175. I’m so frustrated.

That’s so frustrating. I’m sorry. Hopefully since the file was looked at confirming the top 10% rule, he gets a quicker look. Hang in there and remember to watch for the signs on Howdy (extra tabs, changes in the manage my application dashboard).

I haven’t been able to figure Howdy out since they changed it.:woman_facepalming:t2: When I log in now, I don’t see anymore where to look for the “seven tabs”
I guess I’ll saying, maybe tomorrow we’ll know!

Just wanted to let you know he finally got accepted today! Unfortunately, he can’t go to the NSC until August 19/20. But, at least he got in!! Thanks for all your advice!
