Hello. Before you say how young I am to be on this site, let me spare you the pointless opinions and say I am on here to be ahead of curve and learn what I can do to make myself a better student and get the information before many, to educate and help myself be self-aware of the cautions of high school and college.

Ahead of the curb?

I am fresh out of pointless opinions.

You just completed middle school?

Oops, I meant ahead of the curve. It is an idiom I think, that means ahead of whats going on. For example, like when I enter senior year, while others learn about College applications, I will already have gotten some information on the topic @MaineLonghorn

Indeed. @ClarinetDad16 It is only four years away, which isnt a ton of time.

Find something you’re passionate about, and pursue that activity. Make good grades. Have some fun.

Thanks @MaineLonghorn

Yeah, your focus shouldn’t be on college as a freshman. Do what makes you happy now, not what will get you into college. Even if you get into Cornell, your HS years will have been wasted if you were miserable the whole time.

Like MaineLonghorn said, cut down your list of ECs to the few that you actually care about, not the ones you think colleges will care about. Don’t dip your toe in everything, but dive in to a few interests that show you have passion about something.
