Am I qualified for any Ivy's?

After skimming and thinking about how many “you’re not gonna get in” replies in this forum, (sorry guys!), i think you have a good shot, between a 10% to a 40% chance! it is just the fact that your parents make 100k a year which troubles me, you don’t seem to be a minority anymore with that.

applying to one will not get you in, however if u apply to most of the ivies i’m pretty sure you’ll get into atleast one, and a bunch of waitlists, so go ahead and try, there’s nothign wrong with trying :)

I’m really surprised that nobody has brought this up yet:

That is not middle class in the least. That’s definitely upper.

hmmm, i would probably classify that as upper-middle class. but maybe the census bureau disagrees and thinks that it is upper…

yeah, that kind of takes away from the URM thing. I would say no shot at any ivies…and if you do get in, the admissions people are on crack.

thats not true…and for the 3rd time AP is 6 points at my school

100k a year isnt upper

so u mean to tell me 3 C’s out of 13 AP classes is bad? Not buying it sorry.

those three C’s aren’t necessarily bad. but the other C’s you got in non-AP classes are…

so u mean to tell me that after completing liek 33 classes, and getting C’s only in 5 of them, is bad? Expecially since they were honors and AP? wow…

Oboe, honestly, do you think that Ivy league classes are going to be any less challenging than your highschool level AP classes?

If you can’t pull, at the least, a consistent B in courses how can you expect to not only be accepted to an IVY, but flourish there?

Amazing isn’t it.

well there is more stress in high school than in collge, and it isnt that the work is hard, its just that i dont do my hw and i nevr ever get around to doing it. i mean the material itself is not hard. i am just in a predicament where its hard for me to focus on one thing. and for the last time, i said it doesnt even have to be IVY, just a decent school. geez

that’s ur fault even still. No one to blame but urself about not doing hw and thus the low grade.

and i blame no one but myself, who ever said i blamed anyone

alls im sayign is that i dont think C’s are gonna really matter that much for decent schools. and if i can raise my SAT’s to atleast 600’s then i think i can get in a decent school without it being Ivy

Oboe, i’m sure you will get into a decent school (although “decent” is a subjective term), but you may not get into the ivies with those stats.

Depends on were you live. Where I live 100k is middle to lower middle class and in some places (like greenwich, ct) it’s lower class.

ok im a failure and i accept it now lol, please dont say anything more that will ruin my life, i have already screwed myself over as it is, but i mean as SAT’s go i can still take 3 more SAT’s

oboe, i really want you to apply to all the ivies or whatever. so that way, if you get rejected you’ll know you gave it your best shot. it is better to try and fail than not try at all.

yea sure, i still have next year to sky rocket on some stuff but im just gonna face the facts that i am only university material. oh well, universities are cool too.
