The dog on the escalator! Attach a go-Pro to his head and you’d have a whole show. I wonder if the firefighters told everyone they know not to watch this episode. At least they have a sense of humor. I love reading maps so the art challenge would have been fun, although the reverse orientation would have been challenging. I love the editing on this show - when the grandmother said “ this is the part of the episode where they show how many I got wrong” followed by red Xs on every one. I was sorry to see the double dutchers go because they seem to have had a solid relationship and a good attitude. And Phil doing double dutch. They also could have shown more of that and cut some other things. I wonder if she ever finished the art task because it didn’t seem anywhere near dark when the cousins finished.
Usually when they have multiple teams repeat instructions, they show a team who didn’t read the instructions and messed up. I thought that was going to happen with “don’t walk or run on the escalator.”
The hang gliding to the first clue was AWESOME.
I loved watching the break dancing activity - they really got into it! And Phil double dutching was PRICELESS
It’s so sad that racers don’t read College Confidential before starting the race - learning to read a paper map is still a life skill.
Sadly, the episode didn’t do any justice to Chilean tourism. The country is a lot more beautiful than was shown.
Or watch any of the previous 30+ seasons!
I didnt find this week’s episode to be too interesting. Waiting for different or more challenging tasks. And I thought they didn’t do beg for money tasks any more.
I would be shocked if Amber and Vinny are still together.
Footage of Yvonne and Melissa seem to be left on the editing room floor. I don’t know much about them other than how they met.
I liked this episode - I personally could not have climbed, so was glad to see an alternative.
I’m ok with the team eliminated & delighted for the team that came in first.
I am playing a game with friends. We randomly split up the contestants. Losers treat the winner to dinner. I only have the fighting nurse anesthetists and the firefighters left. Not feeling good about my chances. My personal favorites are the boyfriends. They have such a good attitude.
I think the fighting nurses will make it to the final 3. I get that feeling from their edit. The firefighters seem to be struggling with focus. The boyfriends are awesome. Judging them physically I wouldn’t have expected them to do so well but they are smart at the race and holding their own with the physical aspects. I feel like the mother and son will be done in by a physical challenge that has no other option.
I’m in the minority. I find the boyfriends who has placed 1st the last three legs annoying! I think I never find it interesting to have the same team dominating.
The pilots are my favorite. I also really enjoy the in-shape older couple. Getting more flavor from some of the other teams which I appreciate.
Ready for some different geography!
Does seem less physical challenges so far. Map reading and driving a premium. Also couples who have a Spanish speaker at major advantage. I hope they get out of S. America soon.
I thought this as well - so far, speaking Spanish has been a huge boost.
As far as physical challenges, while those people seemed to scale that rock wall well, I can’t imagine at any point in my life being able to do that! The stairs challenge was also brutal.
It may change, but I think this has the potential to become the “throw away” season - the one that isn’t particularly memorable.
It’s been kind of a boring season thus far, at least to me. We are watching it, but on the side, while doing other things. Too much filler - maybe because they stretched the original 60 minutes to 90? With only one detour and one roadblock, they end up showing a lot of filler and it feels kind of repetitive.
None of the teams are truly grabbing my attention either. The cousins shrieked a little too much for me ![]()
Last season was 90 minutes wasn’t it? I like the idea of 90 mins - an hour can go fast. It just seems that this season doesn’t pack the punch of activity or travel or something OR the teams don’t pack the personality to make it as “edge of your seat” to watch.
This sounds weird but it seems that seasons past had more teams clash. Therefore creating some interest, rivalry, etc. to watch. The recent seasons, most everyone gets along - WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?!!! ![]()
I’m in the “60 minutes is good enough” camp.
I know I’m in the minority.
The pandemic?
I don’t mind 90 minutes. I just don’t want Survivor and TAR on the same night.
I don’t mind the 90 minutes but it’s long for
My husband. I’m enjoying the scenery and I think some of the challenges would have been impossible for me. I’m in decent physical shape but I could never have the arm strength for that climbing wall. I give the “grandparents “ couple huge props for climbing that wall.
I’m neutral on the male couple. I liked the cousins, loved how they would panic but feel good about themselves after they succeeded.
My husband is getting a kick telling me I’d be crying like the nurse female. We have a lot of experience with me navigating and him driving in foreign countries and it looks a lot like the couples on the Amazing race navigation.
Thank goodness for dvr’s /apps that allow for watching shows a part at a time or another day or whatever! I appreciate that!
I prefer the 60 minute episodes myself.
And I just haven’t been into this season…not sure why.
