Gotta bump up my favorite tv show threads!!!

Anyone watch last week? Finally a non-elim - used on the baseball wives. I must say I would never have thought of them as contenders but they seem to be moving along and playing a little smarter. That race car task would have made me SICK - round and round and trying to read a sign AND memorize - yikes!!!

Was glad that the docs did not use the express pass yet.

Was talking with my kids about AR - we are all fans and though we are not together, we talk about it on phone calls. I feel like the season is too short, the amount of teams not enough. What did we start with - 11 teams? In no time you are down to six or seven and at three you’re at the finale. I feel like they haven’t traveled much yet but we are getting down to the last few weeks.

I noticed less travel this season too - I wonder why. I’m not particularly fond of the Baseball Wives, but ok, they can stay a little longer. I would not have done well in the race car, and how did those that did well do so as quickly as they did? The numbers were all sooooo similar.

I’m happy that the baseball wives came in last on the non-elimination round, because I think Ally and Ashley deserve to be eliminated. They’ve been skating by the whole race. However, if they were on Survivor they would win because they balance the perfect amount of social interaction and staying out of it.

Did the doctors have to use the express pass??? It seemed that way.

Bye, bye baseball wives. I still can’t believe the hockey chicks are still there. The show hardly focusses on them they are so blah !!! The Afganimals are bugging me even MORE!!!

I was reading an article in the paper that commented on them having been in 6 countries this season by leg 8 when last season they’d only been in 5, so it may just be your imagination.

The ‘hockey girls’ (and I hate that nickname because it’s so ridiculous that some teams have these scantily clad girls on the ice - end rant) have been incredibly lucky so far. I don’t know which one is which but the shorter one seems like a very sweet girl, always nice and smiling while her friend can be a bit grumpy.

I’m cheering for Amy and Jason because I think they are running a good race, most of the time, they’re having fun, and they’re nice. I don’t mind the docs or the Afghanimals. I wish the docs had u-turned Marie and Tim. The fact that no one seems to have much in the way of negative feelings against them is probably a result of creative editing by the TAR producers, one way or the other.

It would be nice to have the express pass in later legs but they had to use it by the end of last night’s 8th leg, or lose it.

Ok, so that’s the rule - use it by the end of the 8th leg or lose it? I’m glad at least it resulted in a first place and a new car!!! (which they seemed thrilled with by the way!)

So no more hockey girls. I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did, but I did like them. They were fun to watch. I’m rooting for Jason and Amy, especially after this week. I think its anyone’s race at this point. Who is going to win

Doc wife’s behavior during the music challenge was embarrassing. Chasing after the Afghanimal so that she could copy his work? After the way she dissed them on the previous leg??? She looked like a five-year old playing some kind of school yard game.

And, really, even if one knows NOTHING about music - if you have eight objects, all different sizes, and you know they’re supposed to be in some kind of order, wouldn’t simple logic suggest that you start with ordering them by size?

I don’t know what’s required to get through med school, but I’d think that basic analytical skills would be part of it. Apparently not.

Which member of this team was it who misread the directions during the first leg of the race - doc wife or doc hubby?

Leo and Jamal deserved to win this leg. From the start they both enjoyed the challenges and even interacted with the young kids instead of ignoring them. Their strength seems to be being able to fit right in with the locals and engaging them. Their tempers might be their downfall however.

I assure you that analytical skills are a must for med school. :)

But agree that both docs were not shown well this episode - her at that task (honestly, I am not music and maybe not analytical - I think I would have had trouble with that task!) and he being so disappointed in her.

Leo and Jamal SUPER annoy me! They can be fun but they are so over the top that I struggle to like them! The ice queens left with grace and a nice appreciation for the legs they got to run. That’s awesome.

I am actually annoyed by the doctors. They were so righteous last week with the U-turn, talking like they stand on higher moral ground.

And then during this leg they were talking about setting an example to their kids and then immediately we see the wife’s behavior at the road block. So hypocritical.

As much as I dislike Ann Marie and Tim, I want to the doctors out next leg of the race. I do not like hypocrites and people who think that they are better, more ethical than others.

Pretty sure AmazingRace edits and cajoles people’s comments to create “personas” - I turned to my husband and said “where did this whole religious thing come from?” after never hearing a peep about their high moral ground last time. Yes, everyone dislikes being lied to, but I don’t know about saying how Godly you are really makes people admire you. But yes, the edited version of the Dr. husband really irked me, like she was beneath him and had to apologize. I don’t mind the lying as much as the arrogance. Nice example for your kids there!

I dunno . . . I think I’d cut doc hubby some slack. If I saw my partner running around like an idiot trying to copy someone else’s solution to a task, and I was sitting with my hands tied and couldn’t do a thing about it, I think I’d be pretty frustrated, too.

That’s what I was wondering - why male doc wasn’t yelling out to female doc about the instrument. It seemed that he was close enough and that I’ve seen people yelling out instructions like that before.

I was fine with the doc team before, but I was fine with all of them except the pink haired one, but they dropped some notches in my mind after this last leg. She had a lot of nerve asking the Afganimals for help after they U-turned them last time, why would she expect help after that? And running after him and around and around in circles to ‘copy’ him - also very bad form. And then this was followed up with her begging the other team to basically stay with with her and do the task for her, to the other team’s potential peril. It was an act of sheer desperation and not in line with how the game s/b played.

I don’t think doc lady was much of an inspiration on the basis of that show.

I agree that the Afganimals are often over the top but they seem like they’re having a great time and are simply quite enthusiastic and that combined with doing pretty well probably results in some of the behavior. I like the guys though so I wouldn’t mind them winning.

I still don’t mind any of them winning except the pink haired team with the absoultely annoying and awful girl and the wimp guy.
