Amazing Race 24 All Stars

abasket, the guide channel on my tv says that the finale is only one hour so it looks like we’ll be down to the final three by the end of next Sunday’s episode. I prefer the two hour finales.

I don’t think anyone would have predicted these four teams would make it this far. The Brenchels are unpredictable and will get no help from other teams. The Afghanimals have to deal with the injured knee that could cause them to have to quit. The dad on the father and son team just got his bell rung in the bull challenge and was whining when they checked in. That leaves the country girls who always get help from all-male teams and the local people. Wise move not doing the bull challenge.

The cowboys were also slow at the barber shop balloon haircut challenge. A few teams were slow to realize 60 seconds is not a long time to give anything a haircut.

It may come down to a few wild roadblocks and if AR doesn’t let stragglers catch up to everyone else. There is usually one team so far behind late in the race that the show barely covers them. If the knee injury is serious then the Brenchels and the father-son team could be battling for first place.

I really wished that Brenchel was U-turned instead of the cowboys. But I understand the logic. Rachel is such a whiner!! I will really miss the cowboys.

Thanks alwaysamom - I’d rather know what to expect!

I still think that the staging that the producers gives each team really affects the flavor of which they are presented to us. For instance, Dave has never spent so much time mentioning his age! Yet we hear it over and over this season. Half of the season Rachel seemed to have lost her whining - now the last couple of episodes it’s back in full force!!!

I’m still rooting for Dave and Connor - Connor is an amazing competitor - and true, often making up for his dad over and over again. I would also have to smile if the Afganimals won - wouldn’t have said that last season, but this season (again - staging!) they have been portrayed in a funner, more positive light.

I agree about how the teams are portrayed in editing affecting how we feel about them. Did Rachel really not whine so much earlier in the race, or is that how she was portrayed in editing. She’s back to how we remember her from the last time they did TAR, whining all the time.

Now that the cowboys are out, I guess I’m rooting for Dave and Connor, but wouldn’t mind if Leo and Jamal won. I think their attitude has changed from last year (or the producers have just made them more likable in editing).

I am pretty sure the editors did a number on us this week. Rachel’s but I am a Girl comment sounded to me like the same sound loop used over and over again.

Personally I am rooting for either 1) Leo and Jamal or 2) Rachel and Brandon. I don’t think the girls deserve it and Dave and Conor just get on my nerves with the complaining about being U-Turned… It is like getting upset about being sent back to the start in Sorry… part of the game.

I’m two weeks behind!!! ARGH!

I thought the editing was manipulative this week. They made the dancing challenge look like it was taking forever but it couldn’t have been because the girls did a speed bump, got lost, did the dancing, and still pulled ahead of the cowboys. The cowboys were last before they got u-turned. They had to backtrack in the bulls because they missed their clue and it seemed like they got lost at least three times. Chances are they would have been out regardless - unless, of course, someone else had been u-turned before them.

I was sorry to see the cowboys go too. They had a positive attitude and didn’t whine.

I looked at the online spoilers so I know who wins. Kind of like looking at the end of a book (which I do too sometimes). I will still watch but I know the outcome.

I am easily influenced. I hadn’t thought about checking spoilers. It took a few days but I finally broke down and checked today. Although I am not 100% confident it is true.

I read the spoilers a while ago and if they’re true, which they usually are, I’m just happy that the team who finished second didn’t win!

Lets not give anything away to those of us who are NOT looking at spoilers!!!

I agree with abasket. I haven’t checked spoilers and would prefer not getting any hints to the outcome.

My apologies if you thought my post contained a hint. That wasn’t my intention and I’m not sure how what I said was a hint re: any particular outcome but if some of you can read my mind, I apologize. :)

I wasn’t indicting you for mentioning spoilers. I was just concerned that once someone posts about spoilers, it could be more likely that someone lets something slip inadvertently, especially in response.

I promise not to spoil anything! In fact, I am not 100% sure I believe what I read.

Always, I too didn’t want anyone else to come on and inadvertently spill any beans. But also, since you said that you were glad the team who came in second didn’t win, I’m thinking that if I had a better memory, you probably already have mentioned a team who you clearly do not like - and THAT could then be a hint to who is in the final 3 and who places second!!! :)

Finally caught up - Oh, man! I so badly wanted Jet & Cord to be top contenders! :frowning: I really will be unhappy if Brenchels or the Dumb Girls or even Dave & Conner win. I’d be ok if the Afganimals won, but I really wouldn’t want to hear them bragging about how great they are for the rest of my life. So this is it, huh? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Missed last week and just learned Jet and Cord are gone. Boooo!

I couldn’t believe how easily the country girls sailed through that leg.
