I’ve had several items delayed a day or two from Amazon over the past month (I live in a city where I can get things same-day, within hours from Amazon). I thought I read somewhere that they are trying to condense their deliveries so as not to be going to the same house more than once a day for multiple deliveries. Not sure if that is the reason for the recent delays.
My stuff has been arriving piecemeal… items from multiple orders coming in one package way early or way late. This tells me Amazon made a crapload of $$ during this sale. Onto the Nordstrom’s sale!
The Times reported that Amazon laid off employees who no longer have work authorization due to the policies of the current administration. If there are fewer workers, perhaps the company needed to delay some deliveries.
How did those people get hired in the first place? Proving work authorization is a day 1 requirement, and I am shocked that a company like Amazon wouldn’t be compliant.
According to the poster, it sounds like work authorization was revoked for some workers previously authorized to be employed, so Amazon had no choice but letting them go.
Yes, workers with temporary protected status from Afghanistan, Haiti, etc. that the president revoked.
I got an Amazon delivery yesterday. Empty. It was a brown envelope, flat, and totally empty. There is no way to tell what was supposed to be in it. I think it is the vitamins from my health care benefit but nothing on the package tells me that.
I also didn’t get an email or text telling me the package was delivered, so I think the driver also knew there was nothing in it.
So weird. Anything showing up in your account order history?
DIL received package that was empty, too. Brown envelope not sealed. I think during prime days the folks are overwhelmed.
Speaking of mis-delivered stuff… instead of my canned cat food order I got a giant bag of dry prescription dog food. That was Chewy. They quickly shipped me a replacement order and told me to donate the dog food (it was $150, I checked!). So weird. And the dog food package had my name and address on it! Then I got a second package with the cat food order.. have to check what I was charged for. Now my cats are set for a few weeks!
Chewy is pretty fast on delivery. Our dog is on a prescription dry food had it is $150.00. Glad to her they have food customer service.
The return lines for Amazon were very long at Whole Foods today. I would guess all the prime day returns.
I ordered probably 6-8 things at different days/times during Prime Days and every item came on time.
All my Prime day stuff was supposed to come today. Nada. Did get a notice that some will be here tomorrow, of course on the day I’m out for the day.
The majority of my stuff came in. I picked the slowest option because I did not need the stuff urgently. It is funny how their logistics work: stump killer, toddler socks, a bra, and a HexClad pan were ordered separately (with other items in those orders) but all came packed in one box! The other stuff from same 4 orders arrived earlier.
Now… Nordstrom’s sale. I was hoping I can quickly pick up the undies that I knew were available in our store. Nope. They would be shipped to me in one week by what sounds like a donkey caravan delivery. Apparently, they didn’t want to deplete the store stock for online shoppers.
A friend asked me to go to the Nordy sale last week. I bought a t-shirt. Last year I bought a t-shirt. I tried on some bras but I didn’t like them better than the one I was wearing, which cost $10 at Macy’s (and I’m sure will be available again) and the Nordy ones were $30.
A good friend lives for the Nordy sale. She orders thousand$ of dollars worth of stuff and then returns most of it. I don’t really get it, but even her husband puts up with it because it brings her so much joy (she lives hours from the closest Nordstrom store). Husband’s job is to haul the boxes into the house.
Lol. My husband wouldn’t touch boxes unless I ask him to. He hates dealing with recycling. I used to get excited about the designer 75% off sale at Nordstrom. Not anymore. The prices have gone waaay up, the discounts are no longer that great, and frankly, nothing designer looks good to me. Maybe that’s the sign I’m old. ![]()
I bought 2 bras at the Nordstrom sale.
I went into the store to buy what I knew would be in short supply. I’ve learned my lesson after a couple of years when I ordered online to pick up in the store, had the order go through, or so I thought.
They encouraged click and collect with an extra note, but every single order was canceled…out of stock.
A couple of bralettes, underwear, Bombas socks, and ON cloud 5 shoes. A far cry from my $$$$ when the girls were little girls and when I was working.
The Amazon stuff arrived yesterday in one bag. The tracker originally said three separate deliveries Tuesday into next week
Ballpoint pens and anker charger plugs and cords.
Got a box of Bombas socks from Nordstrom even though they were not supposed to arrive until much later. My Christmas shopping started in July… ![]()
Still have 2 Amazon items that are supposed to arrive tomorrow or Friday.
@zeebamom - just wait until you have grandkids.
Your shopping will be on steroids and close to 70% kid stuff. Mine definitely was!
IMO, the NSale sale hasn’t been good in years. Even the influencers are struggling to hype it. Every day they are in my feed wearing another unflattering outfit saying “This came home with me!” Uh - no. I did buy a crossbody bag - I was looking for one in brown leather. I usually buy a bra and the Bombas, but I just wasn’t motivated this year. I remember 4-5 years back when everyone was posting pictures of the piles of boxes of things they ordered from NSale - not anymore.
