Only 2 women actually voted through, it always seems like idol voters pick off most of the women first. I suppose this is a fairer start (actual top vote getters) than picking the top 5 guys and top 5 women like they used to do. I think the 2 women voted through will have some legs in the competition.
Based on tonight I agreed with Lionel and Luke saves. Based on body of work I also would have gone with Ashley for Katy’s pick.
Well, at least Eddie and Evelyn are gone. I’m really surprised about Ashley.
I wish Demetrius would smile. I don’t enjoy looking at him. Of course, I don’t expect him to smile while singing sad songs, but he could smile while talking to Ryan. I think he would connect with the audience a lot more.
Alyssa needs to steer clear of uptempo songs from here on out, imo. She was much better last night with a slower tempo song. I am really bummed to see Ashley go this soon. Great vocals and artistry. Was looking forward to seeing her get a much needed (imo) style makeover.

I liked Evelyn. I was mystified by the lack of support for her. Such an interesting voice. Was it related to her being a villain on a reality show?
I cannot believe that people didn’t vote for Uche. He’ll be more famous than the rest of them, I predict. Idol didn’t go to Adam Lambert either.
I wanted Ashley over Alyssa, too. I agree, I’d like to see Demetrius smile.
Ah, Adam Lambert. I loved that season and couldn’t wait to see him perform each week.
I enjoyed Alejandro tonight more than any other performance of his this entire season!
My top 4 are still going strong - Dimitrius, Alejandro, Uche and Jeremiah - I wept (really) when Lionel used his save - I could feel that heart and spirit breaking right in front of my eyes. I’m relieved! ?

He could have been in the top 10 of the vote, but they just announced the top 7. At least, I’m assuming that the ones put through were actually the top 7 in the vote. Who knows. They could have edited it for drama.
Just read that Adam Lambert will be mentoring the top 8, who will be singing Queen songs. Have seen Queen+Adam perform - iconic band and songs, great vocals.
Love Adam Lambert and Queen songs! That should be good. I hope.
Saw Adam With the remaining members of Queen at the Hollywood Bowl. Brought the house down. Super fun show.
Thought Laine was great tonight. Also really liked Madison. Thought Jeremiah and Laci, my personal favorites, had off nights. Thought the theme was stupid. Kept waiting for Dancing With The Stars to come on. Loved Rebel Wilson. Laine got the BEST coaching advice from her… and it really showed!
And Katy Perry was almost unwatchable… I kid you not.
I wasn’t crazy about the theme either. I hadn’t heard many of the songs before, reminding me that my kids are old and I am not up on Disney movies.
Katy… She just cannot be satisfied unless she has the most attention in the room. The hair and outfit were unbelievable.

I’m a little disappointed in the two who went home, but I don’t blame the judges for not using their save. Alyssa is just so average. Every girl in my D’s high school choir could sing that song as well as or better than she did.
@psychmomma - I agree about Katy’s need to be the center of attention. She was dressed as “Ursula” from The Little Mermaid. I had to look it up. I’m old, too.
In Katy’s defense, I’m sure the producers came up with the costume idea. I’m sure Katy doesn’t have an Ursula costume in her closet. If I remember correctly (and I probably don’t), she was dressed as Snow White last season on Disney night.
I was disappointed that I hardly knew any of those songs. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Disney movie! I’m surprised no one sang Let It Go. (Isn’t that Disney?)
First time watching AI this year, just turned it on. Katy Perry, ugh, what an awful outfit. I’m assuming she is pregnant? It looks like she’s gained 50 pounds…I gained 60 with my second kid, so no critique there, just curious.
Not impressed with Laine, very mediocre, and all that praise. Seems like a nice kid, though. His reunion with his sister looked extremely staged. Thinking I haven’t missed much on Disney night.
Couldn’t watch simply because I hate the Disney theme night. Really.
