<p>Let me just start by agreeing with the OP. David Cook deserves to take it all. </p>
<p>With that said, I am a big fan of Jason Castro. I think he’s funny and goofy, but I don’t think he’s dumb. According to one of his family members, he got a 1340/1600 on his SATs (for what that’s worth on CC). Plus, he got a merit scholarship in petroleum engineering for Texas A&M.</p>

But my Texas A&M connections tell me that preparations are underway for a Jason Castro concert there on Thursday if he doesn’t get cut Wednesday. They are planning to film a yell practice (like a pep rally, but not) and the concert to show the following week during the hometown profile segment.</p>
<p>The students are all finishing up their finals and wanting to hang around and be on American Idol…so right this very minute they are texting their little fingers off.</p>
<p>IMO, if Jason doesn’t go after this week, I think the ratings will drop dramatically as the nation disconnects from the show. There was such a differential between him and the other three. I liked how Simon discounted Randy’s indifference to Syesha. She has never been a favorite, but I thought her second performance was perhaps the best of the evening.</p>
