American Idol closet fans

Also - we can’t figure out the lyrics of the sendoff song–
something like “Weee celebrate we home…” or is it “me” home, “the” home, or “being” home…?
Will try to look it up online. I liked the original “Bad Day” one, though the Chris Daughtry song had a nicer sentiment.

So funny. My 16yo hates that song, says it doesn’t make any sense. It’s by Ruben Studdard. He’s saying “celebrate me home.” Here’s a link to the lyrics: [RUBEN STUDDARD - CELEBRATE ME HOME LYRICS](<a href=“Music Lyrics”>Music Lyrics)

^^ Is it my imagination, or was that song originally sung by Kenny Loggins several years ago?

The lyrics are, Please celebrate me home. Kenny Loggins, sometime in the late 80’s, I believe. It was originally a holiday song, beginning with “Home for the holidays.”

The original is much better.

I really dislike the call in questions too. The only one I liked was the woman who was Simon’s childhood girlfriend. I thought that was a cute call.

I liked the old send-off song much better. Bad Day was a nice “let’s put this in perspective” type of song.

Ah - just saw the Kenny Loggins clip. Youtube gets addictive once you start looking up old singers/musicians! I got hooked one night on Harry Chapin and Michael Hedges. You’re right though, it’s easier to understand the lyrics in the Kenny Loggins version.

Saw him do it concert last year. He can still hit those high notes!

278 “Based on that article, I was sorry to see Jason go.” Actually, when all is said and done, I was also sorry. Jason seemed to be there entirely on his own, clueless and original. Unfortunately, he had a few bad weeks. … If I had my 'druthers, it would end up between David Cook and Syesha. I like Archuleta, but he just feels to me like he needs more seasoning.

A little Idol gossip: [David Archuleta’s dad loses ‘American Idol’ backstage pass](http://www.austin360.com/news/content/shared-gen/ap/TV/American_Idol.html)

As far as I’m concerned, it’s about the performance. I don’t care how much a stage mom or dad has contributed. In the performance arena, the bottom line is what the audience would pay to listen to, not what goes on in someone’s house or behind the curtain. I’m pleased with the final three- they deserve it.

bumpin’ up

teri, I went to bump myself and couldn’t find it. Great minds …

I liked David C. best in round one, but probably because I’m most familiar with that song.

I want Syesha and David Cook in the final.

I hated David A’s Chris Brown take. I don’t think of him as sexy at all. Syesha’s “Fever” didn’t do a lot for me.

Can’t wait for David Cook’s pick.

Aaaarrrgggh! I’m so stupid! I thought it started at 9 p.m.! What did the Davids sing in the first round?

David Cook actually brought a tear to my eye (in a good way) with his version of The First Time Ever I saw your Face. I thought he was great.

David A’s 2nd song - didn’t like it at all.

Syesha seems like a different person. Much better than usual.

Still like David C the best by a mile.

Didn’t care for Switchfoot either.

Hmmm. Not loving David A’s “Longer” either, even though I really love that song.

Rundown for momof3sons:

Paula picked for David. A – uh oh this is bad. I can’t remember. Oh yeah! It was a Billy Joel song that I’m not so familiar with.

Randy picked for Syesha an Alicia Keys song.

Simon picked for David C. “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”

Funny, can’t remember David A’s first song either. And I am a fan. His Chris Brown song didn’t quite ring right, and the last one… he did the best he could do with that song.

I remember both of David C’s songs very well, loved Simon’s pick (First Time ever I saw your face) and was okay with Switchfoot.

Love Syesha, but not as AI… she will do well however on Broadway.

Thanks for the update-I’ll watch the little clips at the end, of course. Curious about the Billy Joel song since there are serious Billy Joel fans in this house. The Billy Joel song is called, “And So it Goes.”
