American Idol New Season

I love Stefano but I think he is at risk as well (and just because I love him doesn’t mean I think he’s one of the best - could be, but just probably doesn’t have a sense of himself as an artist/performer yet; I think he just knows he can sing - not enough for AI).

Paul likely at risk too, especially if he cycles back into being Rod Stewart manque.

Pia - even if she changes her look - had better darn well get away from those ballads. Hello! How many times do they need to tell her that! Maybe she’ll lose the pageant look when she loses the ballad plan.

The mansion couldn’t stand up to a little rain?! What is that about?

I wonder if before this competition is through we’ll see Casey lose his cookies on TV. That’s definitely one “side” of him I wouldn’t care to see…

And Lauren needs to toughen up. Maybe opening the competition up to 15 year olds was not such a great idea…

Can someone tell me why in the world they would have the two ballad queens (Pia & Thia) do a Katy Perry song? I honestly don’t think either one can do another style. And the colors they both picked were horrible and made them both look older than they are. I’m still loving James (but then I like Adam Lambert & David Cook too). I thought Lauren & Scotty’s duet was the best of the group numbers.

I’m really missing Simon Cowell lately. The judges need to stop liking everything everyone is doing. Steven Tyler is NOT working hard enough for the money they are paying him- he’s been on auto-pilot for a couple of weeks now.

I liked Lauren and Scotty’s duet also, and haven’t noticed Lauren crying a lot. Last week I think it was Haley they kept showing with teary eyes. I read on the web (so it has to be true–LOL) that Haley and Casey are close friends, so she was crying when he almost got the boot. At least Lauren shows some emotion, unlike Thia who was totally devoid of personality. I loved Thia’s voice but kept thinking somebody should check for a pulse!

Another example of the judges doing an Ellen De"generous" impression, being overly generous in their praise of EVERY singer tonight. I thought Haley was, once again, awkward. I get really uncomfortable watching her week to week. I did not think Casey “rocked the house” tonight either. I will not be surprised if he is in the bottom 3-- again. Now we all know why Pia doesn’t do more upbeat songs… she can not move that killer body of hers. And, her outfit/accessories were awful. Glad to see the “part” vanish this week, but the new “do” was almost as bad as the outfit.

I thought Jacob was surprisingly good, along with Lauren, Scotty, and Stefano.

Yes, this one of the few times I liked Jacob. But I kind of want him to get the boot just for that comment he made about if he was in the bottom 3 it wouldn’t be because of his singing or performance…but that America couldn’t look at themselves in the mirror. Gag, how arrogant!

Lauren is really good, she reminds me of Kelly Clarkson a bit. Pia and James were the only ones I liked otherwise. Haley…I usually like her, but yuck. Why can’t any of these judges be honest and critical? At least Randy is doing a bit of critical thinking. I swear, if I hear Steven Tyler say BEAUTIFUL one more time, I don’t know if I can stand it. He is such a lech. I used to like him.

Loved the whole show. Favorites tonight were Casey, Lauren, Jacob. Casey with his upright bass is just a real musician, Lauren seems to be able to sing anything effortlessly, but needs more confidence, and Jacob seems to be showing more interesting sides. I also am glad Pia got rid of the part, so liked her hair pulled back, but she is too beauty queen. She needs to loosen up and move those hips just a little. Haley is over-growling … this week I was cringing every time she threw in an extra growl that wasn’t needed. Paul and Stefano were good, just not great. No clue who would go home. I want them all to stay another week.

I don’t know, the whole show was just OK for me.
NO big WOW performances IMHO.

Thought James was interesting and Casey.
Pia? She dances more awkwardly than I do and that’s pretty bad. I know its not a dancing competition but she was hard to watch.

Disappointing, since this season had such promise…now it’s just kinda boring. I liked James, I suppose. I agree, Casey’s a good musician, but I don’t see him as the “next American Idol”…

And Pia’s outfit? It reminded me of what a clown doll wears. She just needed a pointy hat.

Gee, I must apply for the job as an AI judge because I thought all of the performances were good tonight. Pia was actually entertaining (although I agree that her body movement needs lots of improvement). Agree about the Jacob tag line–give me a break–but his number was actually appealing! I even enjoyed Haley.

Least favorites, but only by a whisker–Casey (sounded too bubble-gummy), James (I think Will I Am was right–everyone’s energy level was at 10 and his energy level was much lower–even though he sang his song passionately), and Lauren (I liked her performance, but she’s it seems like she’s almost but not quite there–I can’t put my finger on it).

It’ll be interesting to see who goes home tonight…anybody except Scotty could go.

SnoweflakeVt - I am with you on this one…I also liked Casey, Lauren and Jacob and I would add Scotty.

I really find Pia boring… the way she was talking I had expected her to “rock” but it was just a faster ballard, a little pagentry, wedding singerish…

Haley almost got there but fell short…Stefano and Paul will probably be the bottom two. I like both of them but their range is limited.

I Had just expected rock and roll last night and I feel we got soft rock.

I’m tired of the lack of constructive criticism. The judges don’t need to be harsh like Simon, but everyone can’t be great. I don’t think Steven Tyler adds anything to the panel.

“I swear, if I hear Steven Tyler say BEAUTIFUL one more time, I don’t know if I can stand it. He is such a lech. I used to like him.”

Steven Tyler seems to be in his own little world behind the judge’s desk, shoulder to shoulder with JLo-- perhaps what he’s really mumbling is “BOOTY FULL” :)

"Steven Tyler seems to be in his own little world behind the judge’s desk, shoulder to shoulder with JLo-- perhaps what he’s really mumbling is “BOOTY FULL”

You’re right!! Now I’m never going to be able to hear him say “beautiful” again without thinking that.

Steven Tyler is a mound of wasted, freakish flesh on that panel. For me, he is the walking, talking definition of creepy.

Missed the show last night. Always voted for Paul and Naima. I hope Paul don’t get kicked out tonight.

I think that Steven Tyler accessorizes much better than I do.

My guess on bottom 3: Lauren, Stefano, maybe Casey. Stefano will go?

Almostmtnester–Paul did great last night–even I liked his performance! He’s a keeper, at least for another week.

Embarrassed to admit: Steven Tyler does nothing for the show, but he does a lot for me. Weird, I know.

H is partially watching this season. He asked last night what was the demographics who watch, 50 yr old women? Did anyone else notice that almost every fast food chain had a commercial? Also I don’t get some of the outfits on the females. I just don’t think they have been very figure flattering.
