America's Got Talent, American Idol, XFactor, etc.

Heejun must go! His even being in the competition is such a crock. DeAndre must go too.
The teenage girl vote must be the only thing keeping him there. His voice is irritating to me. Didn’t think Joshua was great. Might have been a hangover week for him after last weeks grand slam. Don’t think he’ll be able to work that gospel vibe into every song. It might get old. Agree that Skylar was not as good as usual. Hollie and Jessica have big voices but don’t seem to have much personality/stage presence. Both seem sort of stilted. Maybe it’s just their age.

Erika looked great and sounded great. Loved Phillip and Colton. Elise was better than last week…didn’t like her dress though.

Heejun was totally entertaining. Yes, I know it’s a singing contest and all that, but I don’t care. I was entertained. The sound in the studio must be way different because Elise sounded horrible on my TV, but got a standing ovation from the judges. Philip did a good job rearranging his song. Colton was probably the best, but he threw in about two voice cracks (intentional I know) too many.

Tonight…seriously? I’m disgusted. I don’t think I can stand to watch much longer. Though I probably will.

I agree with danceclass about Colton’s excessive intentional voice cracks. I thought it was just me. I don’t like Elise’s voice or personality and I did not like her dress last night or tonight. I think Erika is one of the best singers, but she seems soooo much older than the others. Even with her new hair (which I like) she still comes off as way too mature for this show! LOL I’m not ready to give up on Hollie yet, although I think her “look” is older than her years. I don’t think she will win, but I have her in the top 5. I thought both Deandre and Heejun should have gone home before Erika.

I heard a single by Marcus of Xfactor on the radio today. I liked it!

I should have given up on this show last season when it started becoming “Teen Idol”. The transformation is now complete, and I’m way too old for this nonsense. Thank goodness there’s all kinds of talent on The Voice.

Have you heard of the website Vote for the Worst? Heejun is their pick. They try to get people to vote for the one they think is the worst to keep them on the air - so don’t be surprised if he stays around for awhile.

I think a few of them should have taken the stylist advice a bit more, but I do like colton and phillip and afew others. Not DeAndre and Holly IS pageanty. Perfect word.

Well, I finally caught up and I’m surprised that Erika was the one to go. But I did see Heejun’s performance and I thought it was fun. His vocal was no worse than Skylar, but his performance was better than many. Even if vote for the worst is pulling for Heejun, I just want him to last a few more weeks.

I didn’t like that Joshua had to sing Billy Joel, but I still liked what he did.

The Voice has its warts too … I mean putting two superstars against each other and having to eliminate one so early? Stupid. And the weird voice girls gets to stay … more stupid. (Yes, I’m tired from my travels and grouchy.)

I’m surprised that Erika was the lowest vote-getter based on Wednesday night’s performance and her overall level of talent compared to Heejun and DeAndre. One of them should have gone instead, but they will both be gone soon enough. Heejun was probably smart to get “gimmicky” this week and just entertain his audience. I’m not sure that tact will work for many more weeks to come. It always seems to become a popularity contest rather than a singing competition at this stage, but in the end I’ll put my money on Jessica, Joshua, Colton, and Philip being in the final four with Jessica and Joshua being my personal favorites to go head to head.

It got old last season–Jacob was the church singer last season and he only lasted so long.

Well, too bad Erika had to go…at least she got a great new hairdo out of it! I knew the judges wouldn’t save her…it would only delay her departure for one or two weeks. It makes sense to save someone that you think America will vote for once it comes to its senses.

Agree with jshain about the Final Four…so much for it being “the year of the female singer.”

Heejun is this season’s Sanjaya. At least Heejun is entertaining. DeAndre has the teeny bopper vote-all the 12-14 year old girls. He won’t last much longer but we will see him on the Disney channel next year.

“Didn’t think Joshua was great. Might have been a hangover week for him after last weeks grand slam. Don’t think he’ll be able to work that gospel vibe into every song. It might get old.

Honestly, that kind of talent never gets old. Jacob got the boot because he couldn’t resist getting over dramatic, screechy and whiny. Nothing wrong with his gospel style, he just couldn’t control or contain himself. If he had, he would have lasted alot longer. Now Joshua can control it. But for some reason, he always seems kind of sad, like someone in his family just died, he never seems to get excited.

IMO–The only one left who may have the ability to sell records is Colton. The rest of them don’t seem very marketable to me.

With the right band behind him, he could make it in the business.

Oh, who could forget last year when he opined that if he found himself in the bottom 3 after singing Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” then America needed to look at itself in the mirror…and then America promptly put him in the bottom 3!

Was it just me or was Haley Rheinhardt’s hair just terrible?!! Wasn’t keen about her song either. But the singer who sang about video games had a very interesting voice. But I was concerned that she might have an eating disorder. Her look was somehow off…

Bought her album on iTunes…Lana Del Rey.

^^^Yes. Honestly, when I saw Haley, all I could think is…OMG, she looks like a 80’s porn star. It was terrible. And the song wasn’t much better.

I agree about Haley … I wasn’t impressed as much as I thought I would be. Her annunciation is a little off, too. She didn’t see to grow much since I last saw her. I’d have rather seen that upright bass guy that was a little strange (her friend from the same season).

I’m still rooting for Joshua … I get tears in my eyes when he sings gospel-like. I don’t even go to church, but I still would go to church to see and hear him do his thing.

Casey–I saw him in the audience.

LOL!

^I thought the hair was a bit much, but I thought she looked really cute. I’m not exactly sure what fits the profile of an 80’s porn star, but back in my youth I was working in a retail clothing store and was “servicing” (LOL) a 70’s porn star. I didn’t know she was a porn star (except for the fact she was trying on men’s cords and would come out of the dressing room and ask me if they fit her okay and I noticed she had a nice figure), but as we were talking she said she had done the Ivory soap box shot and had recently completed a movie called “Behind The Green Door”. Just thought I would share this story…

Marilyn Chambers…

News Flash Everyone. Could Jonathan be the next Susan Boyle?
