Harvard: the popular queen bee who everyone loves and worships
Yale: the popular girl’s best friend who is just as great but doesn’t get the same attention
Princeton: the prepster who is on the same social tier as Harvard and Yale, but isn’t friends with them
MIT: the nerdy kid
Stanford: the cool nerdy kid
Brown: the hippie kid
Columbia: the kid who argues with the teacher about anything and everything
Duke: the class-clown party kid
Penn: the classy kid

"^Is it really? It seems to me that the likes of Prada, Jimmy Choo and Louboutins are the most known shoe brands, considering what’s discussed online, what receives articles in mags, and what is mentioned in mass media. The price point of LV alone would seem to place it outside of the most exclusive range.

^LV doesn’t have the best shoe’s who can’t agree with that. But like Harvard it has the name. And LV is hard to find in department stores like Prada and Jimmy Choo. They only sell at their boutique’s.

LV is sold in department stores like Saks. Its boutique-based exclusivity – half because stores won’t go along with its refusal to go on sale – has spread to its handbags, but not to its rarely discussed and thus not sought-after shoes. So long as LV offers most of its line online, price point is a better signal of exclusivity than in-store availability, as cost actually excludes people while inability to find a shoe in a store does not.
As LV’s shoes are so rarely discussed while Loubs and Choos are nearly the birkins of the shoe world, they lack the nominal primacy of Harvard.

^We’re gotten a bit stuck in France I guess. Blahniks are huge, and, again, have a higher price point than LV.

ETA: Price point also indicates what a brand can get people to pay. Since LV has a relatively low price point for shoes, in comparison to both what else it offers (eg: Purses) and shoes of similar brands, it can be deduced that people simply aren’t as interested in what the house has to offer for their feet. Lower demand, as suggested by the lower cost, indicates less of a reputation. "

Exactly my point. Louboutins, Choos, and Blahnik are indeed at a different level.
LV is a big name, but shoes aren’t its strength. Prada may not be as iconic in bags, but shoes-wise, it’s better than LV, at least in my opinion.

I agree with the people who say that Louboutins and Choos are superior to Louis Vuitton in the shoe department. The biggest name for designer handbags is LV and the biggest name for designer shoes goes to Christian Louboutins and Jimmy Choos.

^do not forget the Blahniks, hanana. ![]()
those killer pumps…

Okay…the analogies to rappers have been really. really. bad. No disrespect intended…it’s just…bad… So, in my opinion:

Harvard: Biggie (Classic, HUGE name, East coast, gets a reference made to him in just about every song ever.)

Stanford: Tupac (Also Classic, West Coast, another one no one ever stops talking about)

NYU: Aesop Rock (Good enough, loved by hipsters)

UChicago: Slug, of Atmosphere. (Introspective, self-deprecating)

MIT: Immortal Technique: ( MIT’s Not really aggressive enough to actually be comparable to Tech, but they are both very well known and really considerably badass.)

Wash U: Talib Kweli: (Good, not the best, experiencing a surge in popularity)

Pomona: Invincible (Super good, unheard of by pretty much everyone outside of certain circles)

Yale: Mos Def (Big Name, likes to show up in random movies)

Brown: Brother Ali (doesn’t really fit in, socially conscious)

University of Pheonix: Eminem, 50 Cent, KANYE FREAKING WEST, (ugggh) etc. (Like to try and convince you that they’re the real thing when really…you know better than that.)

** University of Pheonix: Eminem, 50 Cent, KANYE FREAKING WEST, (ugggh) etc. (Like to try and convince you that they’re the real thing when really…you know better than that.) **

Yeah, but those have a lot of social respect and clout and are very much in the public eye regardless of their skill level.

Mt. Holyoke=Wonder Woman? really? I would’ve thought more along the lines of Smith or Wellesley for that pairing.

Alright, Eminem has talent. But the rapper list is missing Lupe Fiasco. That’s all.

^ Haha yeah Lupe Fiasco deserves recognition. Maybe an school that’s underrated by the public, like UPenn?

Either UPenn or Cornell. Or Brown

^UPenn is ivy league bro not public

Lupe Fiasco= Brown or Cornell nottttttt UPenn

UPenn= grey

I know it’s not public, I just mean a lot of people confuse it with Penn state, not realizing what a badass UPenn actually is.

said underrated by the public, not a public school.

ooo i gotcha, mah b

UPenn= Bad A$s? Whenever I’m there I get a really off vibe of pressure cooker+grey :/

Rap Artists

Harvard - Tupac (alltime legend & best)

Yale - Notorious BIG (very well known like Tupac but will never reach that #1 spot; 2pac’s underdog)

Cambridge - mos def (see below description )

Oxford - Nas (not in the center or main focus as 2pac and BIG are but alltime as well)

Stanford - Jay Z (everyone knows him, extremely popular, raps well on a “down-to-earth” way rather than the oldies classic real rap like 2pac and BIG & well-rounded)

MIT & Caltech - Eminem (unique, good at rapping, “special” in his own way but talented nonetheless like the others sorta like Jay Z on the fact that his music isn’t like “all time” but it certainly isn’t well rounded like Jay’Z’s; rather it is outstanding in one area (math & science) )

Brown & UPenn - LupeFiasco (talented and goddamn chill, pleasing to be with)

UChicago - Ludacris (alright pretty good but not a big deal)

Princeton - Snoop dogg (slightly above to mid above average but never as good or well rounded as the first 6, exrtemely showy some but not as much talent or big talent)

Cornell, darthmouth, amherst & duke - T.I. (extremely “mainstream” and “modern” he’s actually a pretty good rapper …but just goddamn showy his words over actions personality reflects the universities’ students’ chill or partying lifestyle/perception in life but still has some talent or potential)

Community Colleges - Lil Wayne (enough said)

*oh shiz someone already did this…i just realized this LOL

lol i think it’s the most common. Yours I agree with though.

So many people did rappers.

Aww I wanted to see this.

I haven’t the desire to live on the edge quite yet lol

I think of Smith as Black Canary. But yeah, more I think of it Wonder Woman is more Wellesley. I feel like Mt Holyoke is more the Oracle now, just all the connections I guess.

I always see MHC as the most nerdy/dorky(not that thats bad) of the 7 sisters. Like, the freshman(one of my sis’ was talking abt this) are like the kids with the high waters and the too large back packs (u know the drill), but after frosh year they uhh ‘normal’ (somewhat) out. I guess I can’t really see MHC as a ‘connection’ school really.
zbryn Mawr maybe, or Wellesley
