Analogies for Top Colleges

Like, connected to other schools, like Oracle is to superheros. And she is a total nerd.

Russian authors, I guess

Harvard - Gogol. “We all came out of Gogol’s overcoat.”
Yale - Pushkin. Similar relationship.
Princeton - Griboedov. Same style, same humor, but less recognition outside of Russia/less recognition that the two above.
MIT - Dostoevsky. Sort of crazy sometimes.
Stanford - Nabokov. For writing far away from Russia and being an amateur lepidopterist - butterflies like the sun. (Though, considering Pnin, maybe he should be Cornell.)

I sort of want to say that Oxbrige is Tolstoy.

okay, gotcha. I’m not big on superheroes lol

aw dang. Kay, oracle is basically the original batgirl turned computer hacker. She hacks out and does a lot of assigning for everyone. Pretty cool, also in a wheel chair, read Birds of Prey, very cool book on most of the female superheroes and Oracle is sort of the team leader.

I can’t think of Huntress, she wouldn’t be an all womans college, she’s too…badass. If there’s a school for kicking ass, she’d be that.

^^^ where’s Zhukovsky??? :open_mouth: :b

Maxim Gorky is UofC lol

Harvard- New York Yankees, everyone knows about them, have the most history

Yale- Boston Red Sox, bitter rivals with #1, a good number of people may prefer them but they will never be as big as the Yankees

Princeton- Philadelphia Phillies

Stanford- Atlanta Braves

MIT- Chicago White Sox

Vassar? or a UC or Stanford?

Harvard: Checkers. Extremely playable (everyone knows it) and inextricable from popular mindset.

Yale: Monopoly. Very well known, but not quite inextricable. Interestingly, if you think about it, both checkers and monopoly involve similar amounts of skill.

Princeton: Bridge. Fairly far from the minds of the pedestrians, still a very big deal.

Columbia: Egyptian ratscrew. Slapping and all.

Dartmouth: Pinochle. Who really knows whats going on?

Brown: Cranium. Super subjective, artsy enough to fit the bill.

Penn: Risk. Pre-professional, slowly taking over Philadelphia

MIT/Caltech- Chess. OMG those guys are good.

I could see Rice being Huntress, but that’s sort of Batgirl to me (cassadra cain batgirl).

Yeah, I guess a UC, more UCLA than UC Berkley. Really, I wanna compare her to a country, specifically Israel, but that’s off my analogy.

Edit: Tim Drake, red robin, is probably Harvey Mudd to me. Stanford being Dick Grayson, nightwing, original robin. Since I’m in Batman Universe.

Superheroes:

Harvard: Superman (He’s comic book’s number one famous fosho)
Yale: Batman (He’s number 2 alright)
Princeton: The Hulk (Unstoppable)
Stanford: Spider-Man (The laidback hero everyone loves)
MIT: Iron Man (Technical and totally famous)
Duke: Captain America (Looks very similar to the Blue Devil! + Kickass)
Brown: Daredevil
Columbia: Wolverine (Mega awesome!!)

REALITY TV SHOWS!!! (these are major stereotypes so let us not get offended)

Harvard: The Real World. (has the most seasons, a big amalgamation of random, slightly insane young people)

Yale: The Bachelor. (has a lot of seasons BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE REAL WORLD DUH, it’s really hard to get that rose/acceptance)

Brown: Survivor (really grungy, really raw, really “environmental”)

Princeton: The Hills (a lot of pretty white people with a lot of money)

Houston Community College: Jersey Shore (CLASSY)

University of Florida: The Girls Next Door (partying it up with the hot babes!)

Wellesley: Real Housewives of NYC (lots of bickering, female yuppies)

MIT: Beauty and the Geek ('nough said)

Stargate SG-1 characters:

MIT: Samantha Carter
Yale: Daniel Jackson
Stanford: Jack O’Neill
U Chicago: Teal’c
Johns Hopkins: Dr. Janet Fraiser
Maybe Princeton as Vala and Harvard as Hammond.

TV shows

Harvard: The West Wing
Yale: Seinfeld
Princeton: Mad Men
Caltech: The Big Bang Theory
UChicago: Arrested Development
McGill: Slings and Arrows
NYU: Friends
Johns Hopkins: House (they wish)
