any fun movies/shows on netflix?

I had a dental procedure the other day and am stcu at home holding up an ice pack against my cheek. I watched all my favorite shows and looking for something else to watch. If you have suggestions, I’d appreciate. I loved british crime shows.

have you watched Midsomer Murders? Hubby and I are enjoying it very much.

I think there is already a long thread here on the same topic, so maybe shouldn’t start another one.

Some new Trailer Park Boys stuff is just on Netflix. It’s a trashy show but I get a tease out of it…wouldn’t dare say on here what Ricky would likely say to you MomCat if you told him not to start a new thread!!

I had just finished Midsomer Murders when I started the thread. Loved it. I remember the old thread. Couldn’t find it. There must be good new movies since the last thread. I’ll check Park Boys out. After the wolf of the wall street, I am looking for something wholesome.

Trailer Park Boys isn’t wholesome, but it won’t harm you.

Have you watched Hinterland - rather a dark crime drama set in Wales? The other one I’m enjoying is Dicte it’s Danish and subtitled. Both are streaming on Netflix

I love Midsomer Murders, too. There is an episode in Season 7 when the murdered uses a catapult to heave full wine bottles at the victim, who is tied up in the middle of the lawn with a big target drawn around him with chalk lines. That is my favorite. I assume you have seen Inspector Lewis (I heard a rumor they might be making more?).

Broadchurch fits the bill though you may already have seen it.

My fiance is on a Bones binge. I find it disgusting, but she loves it.

H and I have been binge watching Lilyhammer series which is part hilarious and part Mafioso. Slightly violent and too many F words sometimes. Plot is a NY mafia guy gets witness protection and the only place he can think of is Lillehammer Norway for his move.

Some of my favorites are Raising Hope, Bones, House, Lie to me, Numbers, Switched at Birth

Longmire is pretty good, too. Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix.

We’re going through Friday Night Lights again.

House of Cards …every episode. Well worth watching

I can’t get enough of Frasier! Hilarious!!!

I just finished 24, and am watching Homeland now. I have over a month off before I start my new job. :)

Available on DVD. I couldn’t get it streaming. I am sure I’ll like it.

They are my favorites, too! I’ve seen them all except maybe Switched at Birth. I’ll check it out.

I’ve not seen Longmire or Fraisier. I’ll check them out. I’ve seen House of Cards and FNL.

Oldfort, Good luck with a new job. A month should be a good long time to regroup.

There is an Australian mystery show on Netflix set in the 1920s called Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (I think it is based on a series of books?)—good blend of humor and mystery, and the clothes and sets are just beautiful to boot.

If you want something more modern, I watched Happy Valley recently and thought that was very good, though certainly darker than Miss Fisher!

Aside from mysteries, DH and I are rewatching Cheers in our spare time…that one will take a while!
