Anika and Rachel were close. Sierra was debating about working with the girls. Sam needed her by his side. By voting out Anika, he weakened the girls’ alliance.
Do they have more food? I haven’t noticed that. I’ve seen Rome catching things, but he also seems like he is the only one eating what he catches. Did they ever get the 18 eggs?
I have read a few articles where contestants have said they get more food. This article is from 2020. Maybe with the shortened season less food?
The contestants do not seem to change much now ( physically) as they did in prior seasons. They also seem to strategize ( editing) more which leads me to think that they are not as focused on food.
Who knows?
I remember seasons where Jeff had them weigh themselves near the end to show how much weight they lost. (I think they have not done this since they shortened the season length)
It wasn’t Jeff, but was the medical doctor. It was shown at the beginning of each Ponderosa video. They haven’t shown Ponderosa in years. I’m sure they still weigh and take vitals of contestants before, during and after the season.
In the very early seasons, it indeed was Jeff who brought the scale to camp to show how much weight heach contestant had lost. I have never watched the Ponderosa videos and 1000% saw this within episodes.
If they are getting “more food “ what would that be? Like are there protein bars back at camp? I think the answer is no, no more food unless it’s won at a challenge. The season is 13 days shorter and that alone would probably account for at least 10 less pounds lost.
They got the eggs but they lost their flint - so no way to cook the eggs unless they had kept their fire going well enough to restart it. Or they could have eaten some raw. It would be risky but if you were that hungry…
I am surprised that in the “new era” of constant flint losing, the tribes do not seem interested in starting a fire without it. I remember the old days of fire starting with glasses etc.
Myopic (nearsighted) glasses diverge light and will not start a fire.
Hyperopic (farsighted) lenses converge light. They are similar to a magnifying glass. However, someone would need to have a decent farsighted prescription to converge light enough to start a fire.
Another good episode. Rachel played her shot in the dark so people won’t think she has an idol and also so she can say she didn’t vote for Sam or Sierra - very clever move. Breaking up any duo is always a good move, so the vote makes sense. Kyle is the man to beat right now, keeps winning immunity.
Good for Andy realizing he was Sam and Sierra’s goat, but he was not strategic in how he turned on them. The discussions were personal and I think he is still at the bottom. More strategically he should have aligned with the other “misfits”, such as Rachel and Sol, to form a 3 person block that would have the power of being the swing block. Rachel is very smart and needs to find allies because she has been correctly identified as a very strong player. Let’s see if she and Sol can find someone else to be a solid three block to begin picking off the other alliances, maybe Kyle because he knows he is vulnerable?
I thought the same thing last week. Not just mascara but foundation. I figured maybe her sunscreen had color to it. Are they allowed to bring their own sunscreen or is it provided by production?
I just watched last week’s exit interview. It sounds like Rachel told people prior to tribal that she received the advantage.
