I see. Thanks.
I think my surprise with Andy leaving was that I was starting to believe with the edit and all that he might actually get to the final 3 - he got SO much air time this season.
It may be interesting to hear him on the jury. Or not.
At this point I feel like it is: Rachel>Sam>Sue>Teeny
Andy was a fun character and he might still be alive if he didnât lay out his game to Rachel believing she would be voted out.
Sue has done very well at challenges, and has her big âage revealâ but I still donât think it is enough (and it seems like they have barely shown her). I really liked Genevieve and would have loved to see both her and Rachel in the final three for an exciting finish. I really like Teeny but canât see her winning unclothe jury is EXTRA bitter, which they donât seem to be.
As many of us are an older crowd (many, not all!
) I have to mention something about Sue. One, man I was worried for a moment when she stood up at camp and looked like she was going to black out or something!
Sue is incredibly good shape and her body shows it. But her body also shows typical 60 year old wrinkles and âageâ in other places than face - chest, legs, etc. that would NOT be normal on the 45 year old she is pretending to be. Gotta wonder if any of the other players have noticed that!
I agree with you re: Sueâs age. She does not look 45 at all. Yes, she is in terrific shape but her hands in particular give her away. Maybe younger folks just donât realize what aging is like, and they can tell sheâs had some work done, so they choose not to go there/outwardly question it (or itâs been edited out).
Iâm sure some of them must know she isnât 45. Shoot, Sol is 43.
My moneyâs on Rachel. But I wouldnât count Sue out. Sheâs been very loyal and played it straight, and she often holds her own in challenges. I love Teeny but I think sheâs been too emotional and too âon the outside, looking inâ to be taken seriously. Sam has stuck around, but heâs played dirty enough that I think the jury might not believe anything he says.
I cannot see any circumstance where Sue wins.
Itâs Rachelâs to lose via the challenge or fire. If she is in the final three, she wins. If for any reason she is not, I think Sam wins by default.
I ultimately agree⊠but I think Sue has played a game you donât often see on Survivor.
I read one of the exit interviews (canât remember which), who said that many of the players did not hear Sueâs claim to being only 45. She said it on like day one to some people on her tribe at that time. So many on the jury might not realize she was lying about her age.
It makes you realize how much is said to the camera that the rest of the players arenât aware of.
In the recent EW article, members of the jury seemed surprised to learn of Carolynâs level of game play.
Andy said, âMy first day in Ponderosa, we sat down and gave each other the full download of our games over like three hours, and that was a top moment of this whole experience for me. Sheâs so intelligent, and played a game perfectly designed for the new era, but in a way that is also innovative and true to her strengths. She had this idea of actively building up shields in front of her by subtly creating the conditions for them to get credit for moves, knowing that it would set them up to be knocked down. So when you see her earnestly brainstorming with someone, or cheerleading for them, that is both her genuine self but also her strategy, and Iâm obsessed with that. Her final Tribal Council speech wouldâve saved the planet.â
Sol said, âCaroline played the best game. When she came back to Ponderosa, she explained her game to me, and I was blown away. Her level of detail, strategic acumen, and self-awareness were all things I didnât see, and that was intentional. I call her the Silencer because she sneaked her way through the game being a part of a lot of moves, but no one knew it. She could have won for sure.â
Maybe it was the edit but I personally have little to share/say about Caroline. She was not notable for me
Perhaps a little too stealth. Not sure Caroline would have gotten the credit she thinks she deserved from the jury if she had gone that far, but interesting from the article that several of the jury members think she played a great game!
Fun article! Nice to see a glimpse of the Ponderosa and know that they all have a good time there.
Glad to see from that article that Sol is so well loved.
Another Dalton Ross EW article interviewing the final four. The 'Survivor 47' final 4 speak in exclusive pre-finale interview
To further reiterate that Carolynâs play was under the radar, none of the final four chose Caroline as the best player - even Sue and Rachel who worked closely with her.
- On the edge of your seat fire making - unreal!!
- So many times I feel the contestants stumble and clan up at final tribal. Though Rachel seemed a shoo in, he gave me as a viewer a run for the money - I believe he gave himself her best shot. Well done.
- Teeny did a lot of therapy for themself out there. Scrappy and sincere.
I thought it was interesting that they focused on Teenyâs age when she is only 4 mos younger than Sam.
New season next week!
Jeff Probst has a podcast, On Fire with Jeff Probst. Each season, he has a guest host from the previous season. Last season the guest host was Charlie. This season the guest host will be Rachel who won Survivor 47. Iâm looking forward to hearing her perspective on the game.
