I watched yesterday. I think the right person went home.

Really good opening episode. That mud tho. :scream: I already didn’t know who anyone was, the mud make them unrecognizable!

While I had no attachment to who went home, I for the moment am REALLY disliking (Shia?See-ya? - whatever her name is) who had the idol. Too much too soon girl.

Loved the scene between the women with autism and the firefighter.

Some very enthusiastic people this season. I already listen to one Survivor podcast, I may add on Jeff’s.

The first few episodes are tough for me with so many players. But it looks like we have some fun players. Sai came in way too hot and I was hoping they would vote her out. I love the autistic girl, the firefighter who is looking out for her, the “California Girls”, etc…

I am not so negative about Sai. She may moderate her approach as the days go on. And she has an idol!

This week’s podcast was not very good.

I read the Vulture and Entertainment Weekly recaps.

Why do you say it wasn’t good?

You are referring to Jeff Probst’s podcast, right? I say it wasn’t as good because normally (or as we get further into the season), they talk more about strategy. Jeff shares why they showed certain things and why they left things out. The former player shares their opinion on mindset and gameplay.

Right, I know that’s how the podcast works. I guess I would only expect so much “excitement” from the first podcast of any season of a reality show - you have to have a little time to just get acquainted with the contestants. I know that Rachel is his co-podcaster for this season. I actually wish I would have listened last season with Charlie!

Thanks for the reminder. I just watched the first episode. The firefighter is my front runner

I’m still trying to figure out which one movie would I pick as my favorite of all time and how that one movie represents me, which the stunt performer, David, asked his tribe.

The firefighter is one of my favorites, so far. Hopefully, the two firefighters can get to the merge together.

I’m still wondering about Star’s occupation, which is “sales expert.” There’s a lot of players to like this season, but I’m not a big Sai fan, at least yet.

I REALLY cannot stand Sai. She has no filter.

Have you read the bios on these people? Pizza guy is a Yale grad who gave up his career to rescue his family’s :pizza: business - Jack of all pizza trades!

I don’t like Sai either. She’s certainly portraying the villain role, but she’s not really that villainous. She’s just rude and annoying at this point of the game. I wasn’t too “attached” to Kevin, so I really didn’t care one way or another. And I’m glad Mary stayed.

Sai’s animosity toward Mary is perplexing. It’s almost like low-grade bullying. I cannot figure out what Mary did to p!$$ her off so much.

Similarly, Eva’s offhanded comment about maybe Star sitting out a challenge (someone has to when numbers are uneven) really got Star’s dander up. I thought the response by Star was out of proportion to what was said.

One reason is that Mary voted for Sai in the first episode’s Tribal Council.

Star likely doesn’t know that Eva is autistic and that may or may not be the reason for her comment about Star sitting out a challenge, but I’m just speculating.

Agree about Sai. She seems to have a hot temper and she holds grudges. I think they’ll get tired of that fast now that she has played her idol and Mary will gain the upper hand.

Was trying to figure out why she played the idol. Did she not trust the other two guys to stick to the agreed vote? Or maybe they played her to some extent to get her idol so she was no longer protected and also put it back into circulation.

While I understand why they voted for Kevin, doesn’t seem like the best move on a physically weak team.

I wonder if Sai is really that annoying or if it is an edit?

It sure could be an edit but I always say, she’s annoying enough that they have all that content to show - they aren’t making it up! She just seems very “my way or the highway”- and as I said earlier, no filter and speaks without thinking.

I found it interesting that they showed Star introducing herself to Kamilla. That footage/clip wasn’t necessary.

And why did Cedrick tell Sai that he wanted to keep the guys alliance in tact? Was she already aware of the guys’ alliance?

Now we know why they didn’t show the details of Kevin’s injury. It didn’t impact the game.
