Any Survivor Watchers?

I watched Survivor last night. The blindside was mildly interesting but also reinforced to me how little game play or strategy is a part of this season. Joe and Eva seem like lovely people but are quite easy to trick. Kyle and Kamilla have been the only real strategy players and the rest is just loyalty. I’m sure it’s a great emotional experience for the players but a little boring to watch.

I was listening to Shauhin’s exit interviews and he said that he never spoke of loyalty. He said he was playing the game the entire time. It may have been Joe, Eva and David who were talking about strength and loyalty. Kyle and Shauhin just went along for the ride.

Personally, I think Kamilla is going to win.

I rarely watch any show the day of. Just watched Survivor. Did Kamilla put her vote on Mitch to look like she wasn’t working with Kyle???

Seems like it was late in the season for letters from home.

Yes, Kamila didn’t want to alienate Shauhin and wanted to distance herself from Kyle.
It is supposed to look like Joe told Kyle and Eva to vote out Shauhin and Kamila being outside the alliance didn’t know the plan.

Yes, very interesting smart play. If Joe and Eva had voted Mitch, Mitch would be out, so no harm/foul for Kamila. She put herself in a no lose position while keeping up the facade. Kyle though would have been left hanging, so I wonder if he knew that she was going to vote Mitch beforehand?

In the discussions they showed it looks like she and Kyle were saying we will look innocent - Kyle was just following Joe’s command being loyal to his alliance and Kamila didn’t know anything.

I was thinking the outright lie about Shauhin having an idol and showing it to Kamila might be a negative for them, but Shauhin said he thought it was a good move. Sorry to see him go.

Finale tonight, right? This is one episode I try and watch the night of. At least until they announce the winner. I’ll watch the after party later….

Yup

The after show is really an afterthought at this point. Particularly since it’s only about 20 minutes and not live

What we miss about the live post-shows was seeing the contestants months later, cleaned up, dolled up, fattened back up. Really interesting how some of them are almost unrecognizable, while some, notably Rupert, for example, look like they stepped off the game an hour ago!!!

VERY happy with the results. Truthfully, I would have been very happy with any of the final 4. I’ll admit for a bit I thought Eva was going to get the win. Honestly I think she did too!

Kyle played an excellent game. I hope Eva and Joe also go home with a little cash in their pockets.

It wasn’t the most exciting season but it was one of the first seasons in awhile where any of the final 4 had the goods to win.

I would have preferred Kamila, but I am happy with Kyle as the winner. They all seemed truly surprised to hear about the Kyle and Kamila alliance and the tricks they played.

Yes, very happy with the result. I too would have preferred to see Kamila win — and it looks like she might have received everyone’s vote.

But great game play by Kyle, and he deserved the win.

Echoing. Also pleased with the outcome. Well done.

Pleased with the outcome but I would have preferred Kamila. I am glad they showed her saying she would have sent Kyle to fire or I would have been furious for him not taking her to final three.

Interesting that you all would have preferred Kamila as I think Kyle played the better game. He put his game on the line a bit to get David voted out, when David questioned him going so hard to keep Kamila. All of the final four were great.

Though Joe did not do himself any favors with his final tribal statements. Being loyal to Eva is one thing, but not going to show you outwitted, outlasted, out played.

It is interesting to wonder who would have won if Kamila had won the fire-making challenge.

Very cordial and non-adversarial jury, just another indication how well this cast got along.

Happy that Dave got over himself and accepted his ouster from the game. The way he spent his first few tribal councils on the jury just glaring at the players, I feared a Sue Hawk 2.0 performance. I wonder if production has people talking to jury members about how they come across as a result of how they behave.

I honestly think Joe or Eva would have had a chance if only one of them was in the final three. They did the opposite of the other pair, and refused to sacrifice the other person.

According to the jury in the after party (if Star’s comment was correct), it would have been Kamilla.

I still say he was auditioning for a role of some sort - use that time in front of the camera to garner a tv, film, commercial whatever gig post show.
