I think my preference for Kamila over Kyle is just that she seemed more of an underdog, having low self confidence and still winning two immunities. Kyle did come up with the Shahin plan, which was really the beginning of the turnaround.
Was it just me, but the minute they showed poor Eva trying to make fire, I was like, why isn’t Joe there helping her. Once Joe knew she was going to have to make fire, he should have said let’s work on it together.
I felt sorry for Kamila that nobody wanted to help her. Usually the two fire people both get help from tribemates.
I will repeat what I have said every single season that they have the fire challenge - it is stupid, go back to an immunity challenge at 4.
In the final tribal they did not show anybody getting on Joe’s case about his supposed honestly - I thought David was going to grill him on that. Also, they should all have realized that despite her autism Eva was smart, she did the tube puzzle for Star very quickly.
In one of the exit interviews (I think it was Kyle’s), the interviewer asked for another example of how K&K worked together without others knowing. Kyle said that K&K wanted to test the flow of communication. Kamilla told Star a lie. Star told it to Joe who told it to Eva who told it to Kyle. That is how they knew that Star could not be trusted.
Anyone have thoughts of who they would like to see on season 50? I know there is a lot of push to put Joe on it, but it feels like he got too much air time. I’m thinking they will put either Star or Kamilla and maybe Thomas.
I should have been clearer. While Star said that, and others seemed to agree, still wonder whether that would have been true if she and Kyle went up against each other at the final tribal.
Just read an interview with Eva who said she actually did not believe the lie that Shauhin had an idol, but did believe that he was plotting to send her and Joe to the jury. For that reason, she convinced Joe to vote him out.
Both Joe & Shauhin said that the timing of the lie was perfect. Shauhin said that it was when Joe was vulnerable after having that emotional moment with respect to his sister. Joe said that he and Shauhin had gotten into a big fight that day and it was the perfect time to introduce a lie to divide them.
The edits for Joe all season were very positive. They always showed him as very strong and the alliance leader. They never showed Eva convincing him of anything, or him fighting with Shauhin, etc.
In Eva’s exit interviews, she said that she was trying to downplay her intelligence. She said that she kept deferring to Joe to take the target off of herself. She claims that she was manipulating Joe and his vote. Interesting that the edit didn’t show that.
Who would I like to see from this season on 50? I don’t know if we will see anyone from it but I vote Shauhin. Or Kamilla. I enjoyed Starr but I don’t think she garnered the chops to get a spot on 50.
Or (cough cough) Boston Rob, or (cough cough) Rupert, or any other old-school overused players.
I seem to prefer seasons with all-new players, with no returnees. The returnees get treated as celebrities by the newbies, which gives the returnees an advantage.
If you’re tired of seeing really old-skool players, folks might be really disappointed with the names that are likely to on 50 per pretty reliable spoiler sources. The big get might be someone from Season 2 who has claimed for some time she was done with Survivor.
Russell Hantz (sp?) certainly had a falling out after returning and blabbing results on a podcast or interview show. I believe $$ is held back until a season is over, to keep players from spilling the beans.
Not exactly a secret. The successor to the SurvivorSucks website is in Tapatalk com. But the thread is over 1200 pages long, which I don’t have time to read. I look for the summary to be posted on Reddit on the sub r/SpoiledSurvivor
Just watched the finale. As I have said upthread, Survivor is much more “ message, theme-driven.” Not really any villains or real schemers. I feel like the players now are tailoring game play/comments to the edit.
Has Survivor stayed as popular as it once was? The shortened season seems to not impact the players as much physically; so a very different feel than in seasons past.
I did enjoy seeing the Eva/Joe connection and story. However, her falling apart trying to make fire AND interrupting Kyle at tribal with her credentials kind of soured her story for me a bit.
Super glad Kyle won… he and Kamilla had a brilliant alliance.
I thought about the weight loss in particular this season . A couple of the players got fed ALOT as opposed to some others like Mitch who I think went on reward very little. Someone like Eva prob did not lose as much weight as is typical.
I’d also say that some of Eva’s “faults” are related to her autism. Sometimes having little filter for sharing the stage for instance being one.
