Not wild about the final 5. Hoping Tiffany can pull it out but unless she wins immunity next week I think she will be gone. While a great social player, Cirie was not able to save herself since she had no idols and is not good at the challenges. Joe used the same strategy to again win the block challenge.
I am wondering if pulling Rizzo into her close alliance ended up good or bad for Cire. He was an unknown entity (nobody had seen his season). I know that Cire reads people really well, but did she read him properly?
I think that some of the elements of survivor get messed up when people come in with already established relationships with some of the other players. The idea of strangers on a beach together isn’t valid anymore when there are so many existing connections (both on the screen in previous seasons, and off the screen in real life).
I think Cire had no chance to win, even though all us fans love her. Everybody had too much respect for her to want to sit next to her at the end (except Ozzy if we believe what he told Aubrey).
Have you seen any of the others fish or make fire? Cirie, Devens, and Aubrey didn’t do well in challenges.
I think Rizo has a good social game. He mentioned it last night that he is connected with everyone. Cirie knew that and used it to her advantage. He was a loyal informer to her and she was loyal to him (ex. blaming Aubrey for telling her about Tiff). In exit interviews, those voted off often say that they didn’t realize Cirie and Rizo were working together.
Exit interviews are starting to come out. Here is Cirie’s from EW.
Let’s talk a little bit about Rizo. I remember talking to you before the game started, and you were definitely wary of this kid, the RizGod. You guys end up becoming allies, and then he leads the charge to get you out. What’d you make of him out there, and at the end as well?
You know what? Rizo is a kid, like one of my sons. I think Rizo’s younger than most of my sons. I have three sons. I think Rizo’s a smart Survivor player, and he’s like me 20 years ago. I just wanted to win the game so badly, and Rizo was loyal, and he rode as long as he could until he thought it got to a point where he was right! He would never win against me. You can’t be mad at him.
So I just think Rizo did what he thought he needed to do for his game. And I look at Rizo like when your children do something bad, you don’t turn on them, you don’t hate them. You might scold them or have a conversation with them, but you still love them, and that’s how I feel about Rizo.
Even more interesting is what she said about Stephanie.
Stephenie said in our exit interview that before you all voted her out that she went up to you and Ozzy and said if you all did that, you two would be next. Tell me about that interaction.
I don’t recall none of that. And you know, I don’t do the drama. There’s so much drama related to her, and I’m old enough now to know that people’s perceptions are their reality and you can’t argue with people’s reality or their perceptions, so I don’t.
I view Rizo’s game in the opposite way. I think he has a great strategic mind and understands what he needs to do, who he needs to cut and when. It was the right move for him to turn on Ozzy and Cirie when he did. The problem is his social game. He’s liked enough like a young brother or son for people to want to keep around. The problem is people don’t seem to respect his game and a lot of the interviews of people who were voted out were not kind to Rizo. I think a lot of players view him as a number that they want to take to the end.
Even last season, several jurors stated in interviews they didn’t view Rizo as a threat to win if he made it to the end because they viewed him as immature - hence they didn’t care if he used his idol or not. The good and bad for Rizo in playing back-to-back seasons is he’s a black box for other players who didn’t appreciate his strategy. The problem for him is he never got to view the reactions to his game in 49 to understand how he was perceived. Up until the past 2 weeks, I thought he was playing a much better social game but the comments/edit seem to again portray him as someone people don’t view as a threat.
If he makes it to the end, who can Rizo beat? Joe maybe?. At least according to the edit, I don’t think he’ll beat anyone else.
No one is talking about Jonathan. He could take the whole thing. Especially if they get Tiffany out. His biggest competition after Tiff is Aubrey.
Please. Not Jonathan.
I don’t know why everyone gives Rizzo so much grief for being young/immature. Young, sure. Because he is. What makes him “immature “? Dude has made it a LONG way two seasons. Some credit where credit is due - even if it’s his social game only.
Finale next week. Anyone but Joe or Rizo. Aubrey, Jonathan, Tiffany are all contenders imho.
I think that’s why people don’t like him. He’s not really an interesting player other than he manages to hang on and talk a good game on camera. He sidles up and glazes on the old timers and somehow manages to slip through the cracks. I think people keep him around because they think of him like a pet, or someone they can send around to do their bidding and gather information. And maybe that’s a purposeful strategy that’s kept him around, but it isn’t very inspiring or even interesting.
A counterpoint to that is that in my world, LOTS of younger people (including people over 25) really enjoy him.
Also for some perspective, I have read and heard from some other players exit interviews that Rizo was extremely ill/depleted for much of the season after only having 9 days between 49 and 50:
“ Because he played back-to-back seasons with only a nine-day turnaround, his body was severely depleted. Throughout the season, he dealt with extreme weight loss and at one point had to be looked at by the show’s medical team, with other players having to step out of the game to care for him.”
I was thinking princess bride the entire puzzle time!
I hear you. It’s a fair observation that doing back to back seasons has taken its toll on him and he was not in a position to be physically useful or challenge ready. And he’s a young person playing with a lot of regulars— managing to hang around as long as he has is a feat in and of itself. I guess we will see how it pans out for him. To be honest, I found him a little annoying in season 49 too, so it may just be the way he presents himself or gets edited.
He can def be cocky - but on Survivor that’s character!
I think he’s less cocky in 50 - he saves it for the camera.
I also do love how he gives each player their due props when he meets them or they do something Survivor-worthy. He’s not going to win and shouldn’t but I think he’s thrilled to be along for the ride.
And, he’ll be back for sure.
No! Please no ![]()
The Villains Who Shaped ‘Survivor’
From Richard Hatch to Russell Hantz and beyond, the landmark reality show brought a new type of antagonist to TV screens.

I’ve watched many other countries’ version of Survivor over the years. I’ve never watched Greece, since I don’t speak the language. But this is unsettling
Oh gosh. ![]()
FINALE TONIGHT!!! I’ll plan to watch this one live.
One of my two picks still has me in the family pool - Joe
. I don’t think I’ll win lol. Prizes include $, a survivor 50 buff and a survivor 50 mug.
I still like Tiffany. Aubrey has played well. I’m not ruling out Rizo
I think some people are turned off by Rizo calling himself RizGod. Not sure where it came from but it has been his social media handle for years.
