Anyone else never watch Game of Thrones?

Haven’t seen it. Then again I never watched Seinfeld until it was in syndication.

I watch quite a few TV shows, but this one doesn’t appeal to me. I know everyone loves it!

I read all the books out loud in the car for my H while he drove (do not get me started on how frustrating the wait for the next book has been!), like a human Audible. When the show started, we had HBO and saw seasons 1 and 2. Then we ditched HBO. Since then I have read the occasional recap but that’s it.

With the show ending for good we realized a few weeks ago that our library has all the available seasons on DVD so we have been motoring through. On season 5 now. I think by the time season 8 is over we will be ready to see it. We’ll pick up HBO for a month if we have to.

I avoid violence on the screen.

Tried watching it but the first episode was too much. My mom lives here and can’t handle sex and violence. I’ve been thinking about trying to watch it in the early morning or late at night, to be in on the fun, but haven’t yet.

I would never have chosen to watch this series myself. It’s so funny to look back. 2011 when it started, none of the boys were married, none had even met their future wives. Sunday night they would come for dinner and we’d all watch GOT. Of course now, totally different. They and their wives and kids would never stay to watch something coming on at 9 p.m. But it hooked me over the years. I can’t say I understand it all as it’s pretty complex with the politics and feuds and wars and their ancient history. But I got along well enough to enjoy it. I’ve never even seen Lord of the Rings so again, this is not something I would have chosen. I rarely read the fantasy genre. You just never know, right?

I can’t do those levels of violence. I have read about scenes that make me physically ill just hearing about them. I’d love to follow the stories but I just can’t get that kind of stuff out of my head.

MCU movies are about the level I can take. Those I love.

Have never seen it. From what I’ve heard about it, it has just not appealed to me. Then again, I do tend to binge watch shows years later. (I started watching old episodes of “Law & Order SVU” just last year. I believe they are on Season 19 or 20 now? So that will keep me busy for awhile…) I generally pick up on trends as they are on the way out.

I’ve never seen it and seriously doubt I ever will.

^^Ditto.

Never watched it. Have no desire to.

No interest at all. Same goes for Westworld.

I had never herd of it until last week, with the hype for the final season. It’s unlikely Ill watch it.

There are so many current trend things I am clueless about and this is one of them!

I am very sensitive to watching violence; heck, I’m not even great with high levels of suspense. Both Dh and D1, who watch religiously, told me absolutely not. They know me and I trust them. I’m nowhere near the TV when Dh watches. And, whoever posted about antler rape?? I’m already stressed just reading those two words…and 12 year old as a sex toy? Totally grossed out and saddened just reading the words by a fellow CCer.

I have never watched it, but I’m pretty sure this is a book series I spent a lot on over the years for one of my sons.

I love the show and have seen all but the last two episodes. I have no idea where there was an antler rape scene. Can anyone tell me? Daenerys was suppose to be 16 on the show when she was given to Khal Drogo in marriage.

I have never watched it. When I heard about the violence, I knew that it wasn’t for me. I don’t want to watch something that I later wished I could unsee.

I don’t remember an antler rape scene either. I guess Dany is supposed to be 13 when she is married (according to the books). But the actress that plays her in the series was 24 when the series started.

So, I looked it up. Dany is supposed to be 17 in the show when she is married off to Kahl Drogo, and the actress is 24. Very far off from 12 years old. Perhaps these are memories from the books and not the show?
