Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

Really?

“Cal Poly Pomona, with a student body that is one-third Latino, one-quarter Asian and 3 percent black, was tied for eighth most diverse among regional universities in the West, and was tied for the third most diverse CSU, behind East Bay and Long Beach. Nationally, only two universities outside the West had a more diverse campus.”

If that’s not diverse I don’t know what kind of ridiculous standards for diverseness you have, or why it’s even relevant anyway.

CLARIFICATION!!

I am sure jodu93 was referring to Cal Poly SLO which he or she will be transfering to Pomona from. This was a response to ChrisAstro questioning the move from SLO to Pomona. In my opinion, there are many reasons for doing so.

Well he said “this school” so I assumed he meant CPP, I didn’t realize he didn’t even go here yet so nevermind

I’m still on “Application Received” on broncodirect. I haven’t heard a single word from them in over 4 months. :’(. This is really depressing/frustrating.

Congrats to everyone that HAS got in so far though!

Yess, petrarch is correct. Ahaha sorry for the misunderstanding!

I meant to say Cal Poly SLO isn’t diverse; that’s why I want to transfer to CPP where it is diverse! Sorry if I offended you bl4ke360 or anyone else!

If I may ask, petrarch, I would like to hear your many reasons for transferring out. I’m always interested in why people would transfer out :P

anyone transfer students get into an impacted major? Its getting harder and harder each year to get in. Transfer students for architecture need 3.2 to get accepted i wonder what it is for civil engineering

My friend got in with a 3.2 for Mech Engineering last year as a transfer, but he was on the low end and a late admit. All of his prerequisites were good grades, tho.

I have not gotten accepted! On my portal it keeps saying “application received”

Same here maria. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Mine has been on “application received” since early October for electrical engineering. Hopefully we get in soon.

I’ve been on referred to impacted program for about 3 weeks now. Shouldn’t it be the same for electrical engineering. Did you guys also have to do a supplemental personal statement?

I was admitted about two weeks ago into the EE and I didn’t had to submit a personal statement.

Obravo are you a freshman or a transfer?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using CC

so how do we find out if you get accepted IFFFF your portal says “Application Received” should i call them ??? for Civil Engineering i had to fill out an extra application that Cal Poly Pomona told me to do through an email… there were couple short essays on that application though…

I’m going to be a freshmen. If your application says “Application received” then you haven’t been accepted yet, you still have to wait for them to review your application. If they’re asking you for supplements is perhaps because you don’t meet the established requirements. Keep in mind Civil engineering is probably one of the most impacted major in campus and a lot of people try to get into it, so they have to take measures to select only the best. When you get accepted your application status will change to “Provisional admit”

@obravo,

Architecture has been the most impacted major for the last few decades at Pomona.

Architecture
1464 applicants, 373 accepted = 25 percent

Civil Engineering
1372 applicants, 585 accepted = 43 percent

Accepted into Electrical Engineering. Stats: 1380 SAT (without writing), 3.8 UW GPA

rr0066 and other who got accepted. why am i not getting any decision while a lot of people are getting accepted with lower gpa and than that of mine…
sat: 1030/1600 civil engineering
csu gpa: 4.17 i’m persian… might belong to minority … i can’t wait anymore… please some one out there tell me something

by the way how are applications reviewed and based on what are applicants admitted … ??? (i heard eligibility index. mine is 4366)

@farzzin2012,

You have a good GPA, but your SATs are bit on the low side. May be good for applying to business or kinesiology, but not engineering. You need close to a 1200 to get into Pomona Aerospace. They don’t care much about extra curriculars or ethnic background at CSUs. They get too many applications to weigh such things out.

Have some patience. If they let you in, it will be late. They’ve waited to nearly the end of summer a few years ago.

@petrarch

For freshmens, admission is based on points called eligibility index which is calculated by combining your SATs and GPA. It doesn’t matter if you have low SAT as long as you have a high GPA to balance it out. By the way Farzinn did freshmens have supplemental applications to do as well?
