I don’t have anything against him I’m just not a fan of his. I guess between the Glee cover and judging the reality singing show I got tired of seeing him/hearing his one song. Overexposed in a short time perhaps? You could say that about a lot of artists. It’s simply my opinion. I’m sure a lot of people like him.

I think he’s actually been bigger in the UK than here - except for his most recent hit and his Gnarls Barkley hit “Crazy.” That’s one I can never get out of my mind once I think about it so I’ll probably be humming it for the rest of the day.

I was really bothered by how little help Christina received and the fact that she was overwhelmed by people when she got home from the hospital. No one said, “Go rest, we’ll clean up.” She had to go to her in-laws for dinner and sleep. Why didn’t they bring her dinner and clean up? That scene could have just as easily been shot while they were folding laundry at her house. As someone whose own mother-in-law was completely unhelpful, I noticed it. Also, does she have no family of her own? In these big family shows, the spouses never seem to have a family of their own that cares at all about them. Also, Haddie and Max are certainly old enough to pick up the slack and get the house in order. I was irritated with Haddie as well.

I thought Haddie was acting a little “bratty” at the end when she came home and Christina was asleep on top of Haddie’s college essay. Prob. hard for her to not be a little jealous with the family’s attention focused on so many different things other than her future college plans. The Bravermans obviously don’t read CC!

^^Right. And how hard would it be to say, “Mom, I’ll take the baby for a while so you can read my essay. And I’ll watch her later so you can nap.”

I loved the scene with Amber and Drew and love Drew’s new girlfriend.

I would have kicked Seth to the curb years ago, and even the best rehab’s have a high relapse rate. But I think it is common to think that someone will change. I think there is definitely trouble ahead for her current relationship. I think Sarah still works at the bar. When she was working with Adam she was working both jobs. So I think she is writing and bartending (and living for free with mom & dad).

Watching Christina made me remember how exhausting a newborn can be. I agree someone should have helped, especially with Adam so busy. But she can be pretty controlling, so maybe they offered and she said she was fine. Haddie was being selfish which I think is typical for a girl her age.

I did not mind Ceelo Green. I kind of like him.

I think Haddie was acting like a normal teen girl who is in the midst of her own stuff – break-up with a longtime beau, stress of college apps, etc.

CeeLo does bug me. Not sure why. Maybe it’s his lack of a neck. Just something in his attitude, seems a little snobby. I do like both his big hits mentioned above.

Cee Lo is spectacular - a SUPERSTAR. He has loads of hits on his own and with Gnarls Barkley. It was a big score for this show to get him. People, if you don’t like Cee Lo than I suggest you young yourselves up a bit.

Regarding help for Seth, yeah, I think you pony up and lend a hand if you have it, just as you would with any other disease. They aren’t handing him money, they are going to pay for medical care. Who could be against that? It is a disease of the brain, so instead of his white blood cell count going up treatment failure would look like this: he walks out of the treatment center or relapses soon after being discharged. Often the disease takes that course. Helping him cannot go bad, because if he bails or fails at least he was given the chance. People who help the Seths of the world are true angels.

The show was spot on when the family squirmed in their seats as Seth described taking this on “as a family”. You could just see the awful history in that moment, the bridges burned and the relationships ruined. It was innocent of Seth to say that. I am sure he has an idea of the damage he caused, but only an idea. This is what the beginning looks like. There will be a lot of work for this family to do in order for Seth to understand what has actually happened, and for everyone else also to get treatment and get well. What ails people like Seth makes the rest of the family sick as well.

Where is Parenthood???

On hiatus this week I am guessing for baseball. Networks don’t like to put shows up against high ratings type things. It will be back next week for sure.

A lot of shows are reruns this week, although not all. I’m not sure why Parenthood wasn’t on because there was never a game scheduled for last night.

Youdon’tsay wrote (about CeeLo Green:) “CeeLo does bug me. Not sure why. Maybe it’s his lack of a neck.”

BWAAAHAHAHAAHA!! That made me laugh so hard! I think the same thing every time I see him. The man looks like a toad!

Thoroughly enjoy this show each week. The scene where Christina lost it and left her family on the side of the road was especially amusing
Crosby is even growing on me with how he’s reacting to Dr. Joe…he’s definitely quirky and odd sometimes, but he has heart which seems more evident lately.

I’m not loving how involved Sarah is with Seth’s therapy and rehab…seems to me he should be dealing with this alone, sparing the family any more angst. I guess creating a tense love triangle makes for good tv, and I do love how Jason Ritter’s character is reacting to the whole thing. He’s a gifted actor and adorable to boot!

Pretty much nothing about the Sarah-Seth subplot is ringing true to me, except perhaps the kids’ obvious hesitancy to get themselves emotionally engaged with their father again. And was I supposed to see Vertigo as an allegory for Sarah’s continual search for the “real” Seth somewhere in that mess? Didn’t buy it.

I guess I enjoyed last night’s show, but too many more like it will send me back to the 10:00 O’Clock News or Netflix. Sarah’s subplot: not believable. Kristina leaving her family: not believable. Julia’s clueless fascism w/re the babymama, with Joel’s support and BM’s complicity: not believable. Crosby’s petulant reaction to Dr. Joe: believable, but not interesting. Baby Nora: cute, but no good lines. And everyone’s hair still has problems.

Seth’s rehab place is committing malpractice allowing him to become enmeshed with Sarah at this point. Who doesn’t see the scene coming where he shows up at her house with flowers and sees her kissing her man/child BF through the window and then goes off and throws down a dozen shots?

I came in late but loved the episode. Was crying watching next to my HS junior son at the scene about Haddie going off to college. I was happy to see the growth with Crosby and Jasmine. The whole Sarah-Seth thing – the trainwreck I guess we’ll have to endure, but life is messy that way.

And I loved Haddie’s hair!

Might go back today and catch the first 10 minutes.

I think the whole episode was pretty believable. I know I would have loved to have dumped my whole family on a few long road trip vacations, turned up the tunes and driven off!

The only thing good about Haddie’s hair is that it has grown out and relaxed some since the first episode. So it’s better. But it’s still a perm that was a bad idea.

Growth with Crosby and Jasmine? That’s hopeful! What I saw was the scene ended and the camera cut away before Crosby actually reacted, besides his usual stunned look. Maybe he’ll deal with it like a grown-up, but that’s not how he was dealing with it in this or any prior episode.

I like that he finally just said what was wrong – that he doesn’t want to be replaced – instead of just acting out. And Jasmine, instead of avoiding the fight, is saying we need to talk because I’m falling for Dr. Joe.

I hate Sarah getting sucked in my Seth, he may be in rehab and trying to make better choices, but he has a lifetime of experience manipulating. The nightstand story was total manipulation.

I understand her grasping at anything that might allow him to finally function as a father for her kids, but she is being enmeshed in his life & drama and all her guilt strings are being pulled. I can relate to how Zeke feels and what he wants to do, even though he cannot make it go his way.

I have to admit, I did not find the ‘leaving them on the road’ scene unbelievable. Post-partum hormones and they were still very close to home, so it was not like dropping them in a city far away. I can imagine wanting to do that add hormonal flux and you’re there.
