Anyone watch Parenthood, the tv show?

Art imitating life.

Haddie will get accepted to Berkeley and end up there. That’s the only way to keep her on the show on a regular basis. I just wondered how those really drunk guys got home. I also wondered how Sarah got from her sister’s house to her boyfriend’s when she was really drunk. That bothered me.

same mimk6. I also thought, “here we go again”. When Rachel brought the champagne and glasses. Did anyone notice how many glasses there were? Let’s hope Adam did not offer her a ride home again.
The timing of the school acceptances and paying for it is pretty good.

It’s not like Crosby/Dax Shephard is a total dog. Not my type, but I can see his appeal. He’s married to Kristen Bell IRL, and she’s a beauty.

I think Haddie will end up at Berkeley and live at home or closeby so that she’s still involved somehow. I want to do some research on Cornell’s policies on EA and FA to see how accurate they’ll be. Such a college dweeb.

Are we to assume that Amber and the candidate become an item? How old do we think Bobby Little is? I think we’re getting set up for a “we went to top schools and are unpaid interns while his girlfriend is on staff and totally unqualified” scenario.

My 16yo freaked out about Jasmine seeing Crosby kiss the new girl. He wants them back together. Not sure why. Jasmine can’t have it both ways, and she appeared to have moved on with Dr. Joe.

ETA: I also was concerned about all the drinking people driving! Expecially watching with a teen.

Youdon’tsay, you’re not the only college dweeb. As soon as they showed Haddie with the Cornell letter, I said (out loud, embarrassingly enough) “But you won’t get financial aid! How could your parents have been so irresponsible?” Then I reminded myself that it’s only a TV show. And then I wondered, in light of all the “Harvard-Harvard” stuff in the campaign office if we’re going to have to listen to jokes about Cornell being a safety.

I think the big thing that will be tackled in the campaign story is that Amber is Christina’s niece. All of those interns do not like her because she doesn’t have a degree and when they discover she is related to the campaign manager it won’t be good.

Drunk driving issue: I am assuming that Sarah took a cab to her boyfriend’s apartment. It is a non-issue I think. With Amber’s car crash last season I think we’ve seen what happens during distracted driving.

I just thought. The whole Amber-Bobby Little vibe. I think he appreciates that she told the truth and isn’t trying to suck up to him like the other interns are. I hope it doesn’t go anywhere romantically but I can’t trust Jason Katims and the whole Julie sleeping with her TA situation. I am still mad about that.

youdontsay, you’re right, Dax Shepard is not a total dog but we’re talking Crosby Braverman here not Dax Shepard. It’s absolutely unbelievable to think that women like Jasmine, Gaby, and Lily would have gotten involved with him. One of them maybe, but one after another after another? Totally unrealistic, in my opinion.

I hope that Katims does not pursue the almost glaringly obvious Amber/Bobby storyline. Really, really hope not. There are several things about that whole part of the show now that are bothersome and totally unrealistic. Anyone who has ever worked on a city council campaign or who knows someone who has been a city councilman knows that those scenes were ridiculous. No way would Christina have an assistant, no way would that high school grad assistant be in a superior position to the interns, no way would Ivy League double degree grads be interning in that kind of position, and no way would that so-called ‘focus group’ be considered anything resembling a true focus group. I really wish they’d give Mae Whitman a well-written storyline that is suited for the character of Amber and would allow for her to show her tremendous talents. So far, that hasn’t happened.

I think that part of my frustration with the show is that now in Season 3, I feel like I know the characters and with an ensemble this large, it’s difficult to feel satisfied with any of them in one particular episode. That’s one problem when you have such a large main cast and continue to bring in additional characters on a weekly basis.

Oh, and one other quibble with last night, why is Troy signing adoption papers before the baby is even born?

^ and why is he suddenly willing to do so particularly after Zoe broke up with him? hmm…could Zoe have pretended to get his signature?

and the baby possibility for Sarah kind of bugs me…she has given no thought apparently, to how that would impact her other children, or to the fact that they aren’t in that place as a couple, imho. but I guess that is who she is…

Definitely bothered by the Sarah baby storyline. Geez, why can’t she grow up? Crosby has shown more growth than she has.

Worst episode ever. I called every plot point before it happened. Totally telegraphed. Lazy writing.

Didn’t like both the Crosby and the Sarah storylines. Both appear so immature. Scary…

Did I miss an episode? When did Zoe move in?

Minny-- you read my mind! I wondered the same thing. It feels like it’s getting a little sloppy.

I thought the same thing. She had spent time there, but I didn’t realize she moved in.

Zoe and her bf had a fight about him wanting Julia and Joel to “pay” them for the baby. They broke up. Zoe left and showed up crying on Julia and Joel’s doorstep with no where to go so they took her in.

In at least some states, that’s the standard procedure.

If the papers aren’t signed before birth, where does the baby go when it’s born? Usually, into foster care. If the papers are signed, the baby goes home with his/her new parents directly from the hospital. Most people think the earlier the child starts life with his/her new parents the better it is for all concerned. BTW, it’s better for taxpayers too because the state pays the bill for foster care.

Oh boy - relevant topic tonight - paying for college.

Is Monica Potter’s whine getting more pronounced each week or is my tolerance of it declining? Chalk on a chalkboard.

Sarah honing in on the college visit ugh how annoying back off

I want to think that Zeke will have a heart attack by the end of the season. I don’t wish his medical issues but I just have this inkling. Orr… the grandparents will go off and away in their new Airbus thing.

Amber and Bobby’s storyline is now my favorite thing on this show. Mae Whitman can act her *** off. Her resume is ridiculous. It is cliche to go there it really is but it is intriguing nonetheless. I know people aren’t going to like it but they’ve got chemistry and are extremely attractive together.

New episode isn’t until the beginning of February and then we’ll have 4 straight episodes and the season will be done. No wonder we didn’t get a promo. But the episode will be directed by Peter Krause (which to me is always interesting to see when actors get behind the show also meaning the episode probably won’t be Adam heavy either).

Choked back tears this episode. The college themes were great to watch with my 16yo junior ds. I relate to Sarah wishing Drew would share more with her. Thankfully, ds said, “He’s being a jerk.” Here’s hoping he remembers that for the next 18 months I have with him. sniff sniff

Here’s what I think will happen …

Zeke will have a heart attack so all the kids will learn about his condition. This will prompt Haddie to think “What if that had happened while I was at Cornell? I can’t live all the way across the country.” She goes to Berkely, which his saves Adam and Cristina from going hopelessly in debt. Amber and Billy Little will start dating. Zoe goes into labor while Zeke is in the hospital, completing that circle of life thing. I still think Zoe will give up the baby. Will Sarah find out that she’s pregnant in the season finale?
