Anyone watch Parenthood, the tv show?

Just finished this week’s episode. Another great episode, the break up finally happened, thank goodness. I loved that the Haight Asbury community came in to support the studio. Last week after the Max dance scene I told my husband they were going to kill Christine off, now after the scenes I am wondering. But what about Hattie and what’s going to happen to Ryan (from FNL) ???

Nah - they’ll just take her to the brink but they won’t kill her. I wouldn’t miss her. Soooo glad the breakup finally came, but wish he were sticking around instead of Graham. I thought he was great tonight.

I liked the fact that it was Mark who ended it, not Sarah. I liked the reason he gave. I actually got the idea that Frank told Mark what he said in the elevator to break them up. I know he SAID to cut Sarah some slack, but he must have known that Mark would be upset and I think he said it to try to break them up. Frank’s definitely still interested in Sarah.

I’m so glad Mark broke it off. Kind of worried about the impending train wreck that is Sarah and Hank.

Ds loved the way Amber snuck the L word in there.

I don’t want Cristina to die. And where was Haddie in the previews? NOT looking forward to next week.

Ugh. I was sort of in and out on last night’s episode. It’ll have to rewatch it later today.

I think the only thing I really paid attention to was the lovely Glen Hansard. Absolutely one of my favorite musicians and was very glad to see him make this little guest appearance.

Last night’s episode was great. I am VERY worried about Christina. Haddie is going to be SO MAD at them!! DS’s observation was that Sarah was looking a lot older in this episode. I wonder if that was on purpose.

I thought Hank said that stuff with ulterior motives, too.

Going in, I thought I was going to like the Ray Romano character but I don’t - largely because I have no tolerance for drunks. The actress who played his wife is in Breaking Bad. She’s great.

I also thought he was going to say something to sabotage the relationship, but what he said didn’t go as far as I was expecting. Can’t decide whether that was planned or not.

Agree with cartera, that he seemed like a funny, age-appropriate guy for Sara, and I was hoping it would work out. But now he seems weak.

I had mixed feelings about the episode. Loved the Glen Hansard component and hope they showcase excellent, non-very-mainstream artists. Loved Amber. Liked the Victor storyline. I was not crazy about the Ryan construction site part. Perhaps it was realistic, but I don’t want to see him break down. I am liking Hank less and less. The drinking, the maybe-sabotage conversation in the elevator, and his selfishness with the daughter. I admire that he wants the kid nearby and the wife did seem bitter, but it seemed like the kid was excited to go to MN with the mom.
I am not sure I understand the medicine behind Kristina’s sharp decline from this episode to the next. I am curious to see how Haddie reacts. I don’t recall if she was in the previews.

I think the Luncheonette neighbor is obnoxious, but by the same token, why can’t they NOT pee & smoke pot in the alley? And just how difficult is it to park in the right spaces?

Agree with mnmom. Can anyone explain what might be going on with Cristina? I assume that it’s cancer-related, but I guess we don’t really know.

Ds immediately recognized Glen Hansard. I didn’t.

Mark sounded so much like Sarah’s son! Tone, words, look…it was weird and I wondered if that was done on purpose to help show how wrong that relationship was…

I thought EXACTLY the same thing!!!

I too am very disappointed in the Hank character. And I think that’s pretty realistic. Sarah probably is having the same sort of feelings…seeing him (hopefully) in a different light. But I do hope she and Mark are finished.

I think it’ll be unrealistic if Hank doesn’t at least contemplate moving to be with his daughter. Afterall, he’s a self-employed photographer. He’s a quirky character - that’s more suitable to Sarah and than perfect Mark. I did like that Sarah, at least, figured out on her own that she’s got a pattern of bailing out helpless men.

I assume the fever Christina contracts is due to the chemo therapy drugs negative impact on her immune system. I wonder if they’ll explain that by starting off next week’s episode with someone with a bad cold/flu paying her a visit. Maybe that clueless couple that went to Vegas a couple of episodes ago? LOL.

otc, that would be a great way for him to exit the show. He originally was supposed to be only a five-show character, but then he came on for the season.

Jason Ritter’s character was supposed to be written out because Ritter was cast in another show. But that show didn’t get picked up and now it seems like Katims doesn’t know what to do with the whole situation.

Ray Romano’s character seemed like he was going to be really good for Sarah at first but now it appears that he’s just another flawed guy in a long line of flawed guys.

Admit I was a bit distracted during last night’s show, but I don’t think this was one of the better ones. Glad that Sarah/Mark broke up and I completely agree with someone else who said Mark sounded so much like Drew (Sarah’s son)!! Hank is coming off as a selfish, immature character - maybe he and Sarah do deserve each other. This whole story seemed very contrived.

Next week looks like a tearjerker. My mil was doing very well with chemo (cancer was in remission) when she contracted a fever, ended up with pneumonia and passed away. Might be a tough episode to watch…

They had better get Haddie back home if her mother is seriously ill. I can’t believe they haven’t shown any communication between her and her family since she went back to college.

Question of the day for me: Will they kill off Christina before her hair falls out? (as far as I know all the chemos that are used to treat Her2+ breast cancer cause hair loss, generally in about 14 days. How slowly is time moving on that show anyway?)

I realized today what it bugging me about the Ray Ramano character is that it’s so similar to the one he initially played on Men Of A Certain Age. I really enjoyed that show and watching it with my husband. I was sorry to see it cancelled. He just seems to whiny to me, which is another reason he’s perfect for Sarah. Maybe he could head off to his daughter’s location and Sarah could go into therapy to figure out why she digs the flawed men.
