Anyone watch Parenthood, the tv show?

Yes, what IS that? Berkeley or…NOTHING???

Well, they had to keep her local so I guess not. ;)

During that coed bathroom scene, dh asked what is that??? lol

The coed bathroom scene reflected the real bathrooms at some Cal dorms, but I don’t think there is so much chit chat!

Enjoy Parenthood and find some story lines realistic (for Hollywood) but those that don’t have any basis in reality (i.e. Amber applying to only Cal) and this reading issue with Victor drive me nuts.

Like Calmom says, of course the school has responsibility to offer testing but, OK, with our funding the way it is, I get that a school might not make the offer…but parents like J and J would know their rights. Also, with their affluent lifestyle, they’d likely test privately…AND, (as a parent who’s been through this), why would they think that simply reading with Victor more bring him to grade level? Parents like J and J would look to a specially trained tutor or to a reading program that could provide Victor with more tools than simply sounding out words. I was yelling at my TV last night – think they heard me?

I attended Cal years ago and we had co-ed bathrooms–enjoyed that scene.

And is it just me or does Cristina’s voice remind you of nails on a chalkboard?

I thought last night’s episode was the best of the season. Zeke was so wonderful with Victor. And I could watch Amber and Ryan all the time.

Am I the only one still watching? :(

No, I’m looking forward to watching it tonight. Probably many off us dvr’d it last night to watch the world series.

Yes, I watched last night. I thought overall it was a good episode. Pretty funny to see Crosby more responsible than Joel!

I am still watching! Crosby and Joel were very funny.

I like the new responsible Crosby! Now if only Sarah would grow up too.

Still watching here too.
Found the whole diva rock star recording thing amusing. DH (performing musician his entire life) has told me sooooo many stories of sessions gone very wrong like this one in parenthood. A little simple the way Crosby pulled it off but still enjoyable.

Can Sarah grow up some and let Amber have a chance?

I still like the show a lot. Love Amber and Ryan- hope Sarah backs off. I liked how Cristina and Max sat and were mad together at the end. Life really isn’t fair. I like that Max has photography talent- hopefully he can find an outlet beyond the yearbook.

We are still watching.

DVRd it and still have not had the chance to watch. But I am looking forward to it!

Another one still watching – I do enjoy this show. Agree about Sarah; fastest way to alienate your kid is to complain about the fiance! And, while I might have been tempted to try to explain to Max WHY he wasn’t allowed to be a photographer any longer (naive comment, I’m sure, as I don’t have a child with aspergers), I loved how Christine responded to her son, especially they way they were mad together. l like the way the show portrays conflict between people…I like the way Camille said she felt like she had lost her voice along the way.

Still watching. I liked Camille last night (FIL is like Zeke regarding having all the voice). I liked Christina just being mad with Max. I liked Crosby. I am dreading the whole Sarah Amber drama and the Joel marriage stuff and the crying during a debate stuff from the previews though…

I like how Julia saw in her mother what she didn’t want to become. I relate to her frustrations about how to get back in the workforce.

Also loved the way Camille spoke about losing her voice. Reminded me of my parents relationship. Liked Max and Christina being mad together, but I am glad school administration stood their ground in this case. Always happy to see Crosby step up and take charge. Ready for Julia to get back into work. And Sarah… Always the same sad thread of dysfunction…acted with the little teary eyed half smile.

I like the relationship that Max has with Photographer Guy (can’t remember his name), so much better than the one the PG had with Sarah last season. They get each other and that makes it logical that Max could learn a lot from him. I liked the Christina/Max “get mad together” scene, too - great way to show empathy. But, he is older now and she should stop trying to fix his problems. Going back into the school and dragging in the Principal to override the teacher didn’t seem too empathetic to the yearbook team. I kept waiting for Max to go over to the girl’s house with that great photo, as a gift/memory of how much she loved her dog, and make an apology. Maybe then asking for a second chance would have worked. They didn’t demonstrate how he could have worked around this problem next time.

The cake thing was funny, especially since they ate it in the car.

I sympathize with Camille, Zeke is ignoring her feelings on something they’d have to make a joint decision on. But, I feel like that’s not the situation with Joel. IMO, that’s a “too much voice” situation. He didn’t do that to her when she worked, so that’s not how the relationship has worked. She’s a bit too controlling for my tastes these days. I actually like her less than I like Sarah…is that possible?

The foreshadowing for next week’s episode made me cringe. Why, after Ryan gave a great explanation, is Sarah still going to fight against the marriage? And, Christina leaving the stage, made me feel like her character was going to moved backward.

I really like Crosby; the cake scene, the one foot out the door scene…he tells it like it is and doesn’t seem to overreact.

So, how did people feel about last night’s episode?

I liked that Drew told Amber that he couldn’t just leave mom out.
