Anyone watch Parenthood, the tv show?

I also know someone who started a private school for children with autism. It was a lot of work getting the certification from the state, but it was all worth it.

Camille. I cannot even imagine wanting to give up that homeplace.
Joel. Come on! Man up and move past it. She didn’t sleep with the guy.
Julia. What??? Cry, beg, plead. I would so be like “Honey, please, don’t do this. I love you. Please don’t do this to the kids. We can work this out. We are a family, don’t break us up.” I don’t like this story line at all.
Christina. Sure she can start a school of some sort to meet Max’s needs. Mama bear. Yep.

I became interested in this show after reading how much you were all enjoying it. I am now binge watching starting with Season 1 on Netflix. I’m up to the beginning of Season 3 now. Don’t want to go back through here and read all the spoilers.

I just want to say that I am addicted to this show. Acting, writing and storylines are just excellent!!! I identify with so many of the parent/teenage girl issues. I cried last night when Haddie and Alex broke up. Now it is going to be complicated when I get to the end of the seasons that Netflix has and try to fill in to the current season.

Coralbrook I can watch the current season “on demand” for me through my cable provider.

Coralbrook, you can watch this season’s episodes on the NBC website:
http://www.nbc.com/parenthood/episodes

Thanks, I just need to catch up to this season to start watching them on the NBC website. At the rate I’m going I should be caught up by next week!! I try to watch 2-3 episodes a night.

Maybe you should ration yourself! No new episodes until after the Olympics. :frowning:

Well, yes. I’m definitely an Olympics junkie. Amazing how I have no interest in something like Curling or Slalom Skiing at any other time, but when it’s the Olympics I’m just glued to it.

For Parenthood fans, you might want to google “Friday Night at The Luncheonette” to help you make it through until new episodes after the Olympics.

That’s fun, but I think it’s more a Friday Night Lights fun than a Parenthood fun. It’s great to see Landry again, and great to imagine Landry (or Devin) with Amber. And I can imagine Landry and Devin showing up at The Luncheonette (and of course it’s already established that somehow Billy Riggins knows Crosby). But other than on the basis of Hollywood meta, I don’t get how Amber happens to be wearing an East Dillon Lions t-shirt or talking about her “one time” with Tim Riggins.

I know the actor that played Billy Riggins showed up in an earlier episode (Crosby’s wedding?), but I don’t think he was in character as Billy Riggins? On the other hand, the poker game episode a few weeks ago included the actor who will be starring in Jason Katims’ new show, About A Boy, and he was supposed to be in character, so there is more crossover potential there.

Tonight’s the night!

Anybody watch About A Boy? I liked it.

I liked About a Boy. I was disappointed that they repeated the premiere on Tuesday night, but I guess they are trying to build an audience. Cute show.

It was OK, but David Walton is a pretty poor substitute for Hugh Grant. And Minnie Driver needs to eat a cheeseburger or three, and to get some lines written for her that make her a person, not a cliche. But the kid is perfect. (Which one would expect given Katim’s track record with young actors.)

About A Boy is on NBC and takes place in San Francisco, so I imagine we will see more than one crossover between it and Parenthood.

Meanwhile, last night while I was puttering around with the TV on, all of a sudden there was Mae Whitman on Suburgatory, playing a charismatic, psychopathic lead singer/cult leader for a band/cult resembling The Polyphonic Spree. Totally against type (unless you think her type is her “Evil Ex” role in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World). Fun!

Sniff, sniff, sniff. I can only wish my siblings were semi-normal.

^yes, loved how they all showed up for Julia…very sweet.

also liked how Drew sought out Amber to help figure out his ex girlfriend situation and then told her she needed to tell her folks, he is so sensitive…and he is so handsome

Yes, they have made Drew pretty much perfect. Except for his hair. But even that is awkward-cute.

By the way . . . “ex girlfriend situation”? I am not certain how someone you are sleeping with (in all senses of the phrase) every night for a month or so, who says she loves you and you say it back, and who clearly expects exclusivity, can be accurately described as “ex”.

Also, was I dreaming, or was everyone wearing overcoats and sweaters on last night’s show? I don’t remember ever wearing that many clothes in the three winters I spent in the Bay Area.

My daughter lives in San Francisco and there are times she is definitely bundled up in winter coat, scarf, and mittens.

Oldmom, I feel the same way. And good for Drew. I think Camille may rethink selling the house.

I did enjoy About a Boy. Cute. The boy and male lead work together so well, great chemistry and writing. Poor Minnie and being typecast. Hopefully the writer’s can give her a little more to work with.
