And he’s good for her too–he really loves her and puts up with her, and she needs that.

@walkinghome, the rumors of a death have been out there since before the final season began. Here’s one article - it says spoilers in the title, but it’s really speculation, no actual spoilers. Evidently our next episode on January 8th will be an emotional one according to this.

OK, am I to understand that the show is patterned after Steve Martin’s movie Parenthood?? Am I the only one who didn’t make the connection? Makes me want to re-watch the movie.

It’s “based” on the movie, but I don’t think it has to be particularly faithful to it. The movie was great.

More of a tease than a spoiler with a slideshow of stills: http://tvline.com/2014/12/18/parenthood-series-finale-date-title-confirmed/

There is one picture in the slide show of Adam at the Luncheonette that really makes me wonder what is going on at that point. I’m really looking forward to this final four of episodes.

I’m also looking forward to the final four episodes!

There is another picture at the Luncheonette that has me curious-Crosby sitting in a chair. Looks like he is in the recording booth but the recording equipment is gone!

I’m wondering if it’s Max who dies. He is not in any of the pictures in epi 10.

After I posted earlier, I dd an internet search and did find one slight spoiler and that is that Haddie will be back in the final episode. I’m glad of that.

I’ll be glad to have something fun and new after the holidays…can’t wait.

Bumping as a reminder to my Parenthood peeps!
Thanks for the reminder!
This forum is really hopping! Re bumping …
Fell asleep early last night, so I just watched this morning. I loved the whole episode, but especially loved the significant others for the Braverman kids. Really felt for Drew when his car wouldn’t start.
I missed it! Got to catch up.
Saw a funny comment in a blog this morning -
Hank, who just wants to do anything to help, drives to UC Berkeley to pick up Drew, because the Pontiac won’t start. Did you get that? THE PONTIAC IS DEAD. Oh, the tragic irony.

I can’t read this thread yet, as I’m just two shows away from the Season 5 finale…then will begin on the Final season On Demand. This is the first show since Breaking Bad that DH and I have binge watched together. We both just love it, especially the characters of Zeek and Crosby. I think what resonates so much is that we are of the age between Zeek and Camille and their older kids.
I can identify with having college kids and teens like Adam and Sarah, and all the angst that brings. But we waited 9 years before having kids after we were married, so are about 10-12 years older than they are, and 10-12 years younger than their parents. We’ve been together 36 years and bought the family home…and are now talking about selling it at some point…but it’s been the only home my kids have known. We are feeling the issues of both generations somewhat.
It has been a delightful binge knowing the Bravermans, and I’m so sad that we are almost finished with the show! We look forward to watching it almost every night. Looking forward to reading this thread when I’m finished…just wish I could read and discuss it now.
The only fault I find is that in the later seasons, we’ve grown weary of all them talking over each other. At first it seemed just a little, now it’s over the top and all of them. I’ve read they let them ad lib, and it’s becoming predictable and boring. It would be different if it was just one family, but come on. Sometimes I can’t wait until they cut away from Adam and Kristina and if she says "honey’ one more time I’ll smack her. They really needed to get a handle of that.
Don’t laugh, but it did occur to me that Crosby had hired someone to torch the place.
While I teared up a couple of times, the episode wasn’t as sad as I had feared. Happy Joel and Julia seem to be reconciling. Still don’t get what Sarah sees in Hank.
Patsmom, I love that blog post. Jordan Catalano girlfriend, indeed! What is the blog?
Sad that this is the last season, as I’ve always loved the Bravermans. First, they ride off into the sunset, then my only child will head off to college in August. I need some sort of empty nest TV program, the opposite of “Full House” perhaps, to fill the void.
Barbalot, if you didn’t watch Friday Night Lights the first time around, I recommend it. Also by Jason Katims, and it features some of the same actors – Matt Lauria, Michael B. Jordan.
