Hi! I’m currently going into my senior year and having to choose between taking college calculus or AP stats. Math has always been my weakest subject, and it was recommended by my IB Math teacher that I take an easier math class for my senior year. I’m in the full IB program, and have an intense course load as it is, but feel that not taking calc will reflect poorly on my applications. My top school is USC but I want to be a film major, not a stem major, and I am applying to all my schools either as film or anthropology. How bad will it look that I took stats instead of calc?? I’m very nervous
For a Film/Anthro major i think Stats would be fine. What are you taking as your HL subjects?
Film, lit and Lang, and history of the americas are my HLs

I agree that taking AP Stats would be absolutely fine though since IB is so rigorous and your choice in HLs matches what you’re interested in for college.
Math, computer science, and German
Yes, you’re fine. You don’t even need to take AP Stats with that schedule .
Your schedule seems mad busy already and you shouldn’t take something because it will “look good for colleges”, take something if you want to challenge yourself, learn, and use.
