@oldfashioned, research the university, if you like it, apply.

I used to be bombarded with those all the time. Universities do it because it gets their admission rates down (as in get the number of people who apply to go up regardless whether they have the intention to admit you) which is good for their rankings.

@ahtesham, thats exactly what im wondering…CSS profile waiver is a bit rare even for US citizens. Even they hardly get it. And international students are not at all eligible to get it.

Oh and one more thing, ahtesham did you really just give your username and password of college board to all universities? and they accepted it as a substitute of receiving official scores from the college board website? EVEN the ivy league universities??

@SAT456 @oldfashioned Yeah! i know it sound a bit crazy but actually some of my colleges gave me CSS waiver code like Duke, Williams and Skidmore and other ask me to submit ISFAA instead
For SAT score, Let me tell you i haven’t applied to a single Ivy (low profile so yeah top LACS all) I gave most my password and some of them denied to accept that as a substitute due to violation of their policy so they ask me to ask my counselor to stamp and sign my student SAT report and email them. literally, all of them have accepted it. I had applied to 18 colleges and still didn’t paid a single dollar for anything. Trinity college wasn’t offering me Waiver and neither they are accepting ISFAA as a alternative so i faxed my CSS profile to them Hope it helps

Ahtesham, thats seriously amazing. Because honestly speaking, i didn’t apply to many of the colleges I had previously intended to apply to only because of the mounting expense…the current exchange rate is unbelievable.
And can we seriously fax the CSS? They’ll charge us nothing then? Are.you.kidding.me ?!

I am sending my financial aid documents to some colleges through IDOC of collegeboard. In the cover sheet of IDOC, I am required to write the social security numbers (SSN) of me and my parents. But, we do not have SSN here in Pakistan. So, what should I write there?

@SAT456 you are not required to send financial aid documents through IDOC because it is used by US citizens to send their W2 forms etc. If your parents file a tax return then send a scanned copy of it to the colleges through email and if they don’t file a tax return then send a scanned copy of their employers statement by email. These two are the only documents colleges require in addition to the CSS profile.

^ I received an email from collegeboard that one college to which I sent my CSS profile requires submission of documents through IDOC. That is why I am sending documents through IDOC.

Can anyone please answer my question about SSN in my previous post?
