@TheCricketFreak Thanks for the optimism mate I hope I get accepted but I really screwed up in my O’Levels but never mind did you received the scholarship with the acceptance notification?

@alisiddiqui94 - Yes, the scholarship award was given in the SAME email that had the admission decision.

Well Congratulation once again man. So have you applied to any Colleges in US?

Hello!
Did anyone of you have Yale/Princeton interview?

Is anyone expecting a Harvard interview on this forum? CricketFreak are you expecting one?

@alisiddiqui94 - Yes, I have applied to a couple of universities and LACs there. Other than that, I have applied to the UK. But for the moment, HKU’s offer seems to be the most lucrative one - too tempting to resist.

@JerrySeinfeld I guess International students are exempted from Interview from most US colleges except MIT. Some also take it on Skype. @TheCricketFreak @Alisiddiqui94 Good luck guys

@ahtesham thanks :)

@ahtesham I know about that.

Did you have a Yale/Princeton interview or did anyone else have one?
Would you be willing to share your stats?

@JerrySeinfeld I had a Brown University Interview 3 weeks ago

@alisiddiqui94
How’d it go?
Good luck with the decision.

I didnt apply to Brown though.

It was fine the alumni was a local politician and had a dual Engineering degree from Brown. He asked me tricky questions though, he wanted to know weather I want to come to Brown just because of the money I would be making after graduation or weather I was really passionate to get a good education from Brown and stuff like that.
Btw do you have a interview with any college if so then just research on the college thoroughly and read your common app essay beforehand. Google Interview questions and you will do fine as long as your true intention is getting a education and not possession gain.
Thank You, Luck is the only thing that can get me to Brown.

@alisiddiqui94
I had an interview with a Yale alum at LUMS.
My Princeton interview went terrific.

Yes, I did thoroughly search the colleges beforehand and I feel they both when reasonably well. The whole process is very unpredictable. Good luck to me :p

@JerrySeinfeld - Hello. Where are you from and what are your stats?

@TheCricketFreak
Since you asked

O level: 15As+, a couple of distinctions
A level: 1A, Predicted 5As

SAT: 2000+

Lets just saying I’m eyeing some top universities, not very hopeful though. I only applied to the US, nowhere in Pakistan.

@JerrySeinfeld - Your O’level results are quite impressive!
You can still apply to universities here in Pakistan. What is your intended major?

@TheCricketFreak
I dont know actually. I’d like to explore different subjects in college. That’s the main reason I’m interested in an education in the US. The flexibility the US education system provides really suits me.

@JerrySeinfeld - I see. There are lots of LACs there in the US that offer this flexibility. Get into one!

@TheCricketFreak
Tbh O level grades dont matter that much to top US universities. People can get in with reasonably good grades but you have to have a story which is your own and expect that college would want a person like you on their campus. Congrats on the HKU decision btw!

@JerrySeinfeld - I have a different opinion. I believe O and A’level grades DO matter when you apply to universities in the US. Many colleges themselves state the utmost importance of high school transcripts. Other than that, I agree with you over the fact that most of these universities would want you to stand out from the crowd in one way or the other.
Thank you! Did you apply too?
