Applying to the College Class of 2017 (Starting College in the Fall of 2013)

@talha5b Wow! Amazing Congratulations… Well done bro

@duresham @Maaz and @talha Please add yourself to the list… Its great to see Pakistan is doing so well

@ahtesham…thnks a lot… plus this was a complete surprise because the decision came through fedex…

@Maaz and @talha congratulations :)

@duresham3

Great objective and subjective stats.

You all have such amazing stats! I doubt I’ll get accepted anywhere

@talha, duresham and Maaz, CONGRAGULATIONS people! :)

Colgate university is absolutely stunning…i’m sure you’ll have a great time there if thats where you decide to go in the end :)

Thank You everyone! :smiley:
@talha. You have done great job. (*Formal Congratulations)
@duresham Congratulations to you too. Did you respond to WUSTL through any means?

THANK YOU everybody :smiley:
@maaz nopes, not yet. I checked the decision on their portal. They said they’ll e-mail me the details and financial aid package later. Did you get anything on the financial aid yet?

@talha CONGRATULATIONS! :smiley: You deserve it :D

maaz which school did you get accepted at bdw? I got accepted at Olin School of Business

@duresham. Wow. I also got in Olin.
And yeah, no financial aid details yet. I hope it’s good enough :D

caltech decisions out? if yes, did any1 get in?

@talha5b dude no Pakistani has ever got into Caltech since 1994 that’s what I have heard though

A girl from Lahore who won a medal at the Int. Physics Olympiad got in, in 2007 or 2006. Uncertain about the year, but certain she got in. However it is very rare for internationals to make it with $ there. Class size is already so small

agree with pakirootsian…

Congratulations Talha, Maaz and Duresham. Amazing :D

she must have been extra ordinary genius

Talha, my friend wants to know what you did to get the Alumni Scholarship. Any specific application? Also, your SATs and grades etc.

I didnt apply to Colgate, but it very nearly made my final list. Brilliant university. :)

I can just say i got lucky because I very nearly overlooked applying to colgate. I submitted my colgate supplement on 19th Feb :P, 1 month after the deadline. I am still shocked they accepted me… There was no separate application. I actually did not know about this Alumni scholarship till yesterday.
As far as stats are confirmed, here they are:
Sat 1: 2260 (CR:760 Maths:800 Writing:700)
Sat 2: 2320 (Chem 780 Maths: 800 Physics:740)
I had 11 as and 1 B in olevels ( 1 world distinction, 1 regional). Currently I have 6 subjects for alevels and almost all as in transcript except one b in further maths in a-1 mids.
Not a lot of ECs and volunteer work. part of IMO camp twice, really thought i had chance this year for imo selection. but the stupid camp organisers twice postponed the date and in the end it clashed with my sendups :(… was really sad about it. In short, not a lot of ECs :P

i hv one question… do colleges look into the number of applications received from each school and favour the schools with more applications? i know its a silly question :p
