Are there any Direct Admit Nursing Programs with an application deadline that has not passed?

Are there any Direct Admit Nursing Programs with an application deadline that has not passed as of February 21st for Fall 2026 enrollment?

Why not look at the direct admit nursing list - and go school by school. Even if not past a deadline, they may have filled up.

I looked at two easier to get into - Marshall and FAU and both had Jan 15th.

You’ll need to do for each school.

Belmont looks like it’s open til March 1st although you are past the deadline for nursing scholarships.

That’s why you need to go school by school. Look at the least competitive admission wise.

Good luck.

I’m not sure about this year, but I know Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth University -Mansfield campus had openings as of 5/27/25 last year. If you are willing to look at small schools in Pennsylvania, there are dozens of schools with direct entry nursing programs, some of which may still be accepting applications. You would need to contact each school directly. Here is a list of RN programs in PA; scroll down to bachelor (baccalaureate) degree programs.

Ohio and New York state also have a number of small schools with direct entry nursing programs.

Thank you. She was accepted by Florida Southern’s Direct Admit program, Ohio State pre-nursing, and West Virginia Pre-nursing, deferred by UT, Purdue and URI. Sacred Heart requested an interview, which we have scheduled for 3/15. She is getting nervous and discouraged.

She was also accepted by LSU, Oklahoma and High Point. University of Delaware offered her second choice major.

What’s wrong with Florida Southern? She got an acceptance - that’s great!!!

I do wonder what’s wrong with pre nursing - if you are direct admit but bomb, you won’t be in - so there are other paths.

But check Belmont.

Merrimack has a great program, is direct admit and takes rolling admissions until August (until the program is filled. You may want to call). If she is looking at Sacred Heart, it’s not to far too also look at Merrimack as well. We know students that love both programs.

Sounds like she has plenty of options. I’m not sure why she should be discouraged. If she doesn’t want to consider small schools, she may need to be willing to start in pre-nursing.

You can cross reference the list that tsbna linked above with the common app. In common app, go to college search, then click ‘filters’, and you can search by colleges that have deadlines on or after a certain date. (sadly you can’t search colleges by major in common app.) There are 817 schools in the US with a admission deadline on or after Feb 25, and this database is just common app colleges, so obviously there are more than that. You should verify all info on each school’s website too.

Look on this thread for ideas too:

It does sound like she has plenty of acceptances. Does she not like any of them, or do you need something more affordable or…?

Maybe see if Saint Louis University takes late applications?

She’s missed the Priority deadline for University of New Mexico, but the direct admit program accepts application until the April 1 Final Deadline.

    • Priority deadline*: December 1
    • Final Deadline: April 1

*Application will close at 10:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on the day of the Final Deadline.

*Priority Deadline (All completed applications will be reviewed and qualified applicants will be offered admission 4-6 weeks after this deadline.)

*Final Deadline (All completed applications will be considered if spots are still available, 4-6 weeks after this deadline.)

In Virginia, the Bon Secours College of Nursing has a March 1 deadline for applications to its direct admission program.

Curry College is direct admit with an application deadline of 4/1. They are combining with Laboure this fall, so I’m not sure how that will affect admissions, but it is a very good, well resourced program with a 94+% NCLEX pass rate. From what I hear, while many colleges expect to weed out a certain percentage of nursing students, Curry will connect you to a lot of resources if you are struggling.
