<p>It is! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really good school. But when you live in the south (and the school is supposed to be full of northerners)/TarHeel nation (and it’s, uh, Duke haha), it would get a bad rep no matter what :p</p>
<p>Urbana-Champaign is a street hooker. (That’s what it sounds like doesn’t it…)</p>
<p>Duke. Hate them always & forever. I’ve grown up a UNC fan & I’m going there in the fall…I know no different 
plus, everyone I know whose gone to Duke is slightly pretentious…not really my cup of tea.
I also don’t like Wake Forest, as a school, but I root for them in sports on occasion. My dad went there for a year, so that’s probably why we’ll go for them, but he hated going to school there and left…I think Wake is overrated academically anyway.</p>
<p>USC. No reason really, I just hate them. Used to hate Yale, but after I visited… I’m sorry but the campus is too beautiful. Stanford doesn’t give a good vibe to me either.</p>
<p>^People always tell me bad things about Yale’s campus. But they’re probably just doing it to be nice. I also mostly only talked to people about it at a Harvard thing, which could explain a lot of the negative comments.</p>
<p>Actually if a lot of people hate Duke, its kinda alright then. I mean Duke must be doing something worth hating.</p>

<p>There’s really no reason to hate a University. I wouldn’t want to go to come universities, or think that they’re kind of stupid.</p>
<p>Like, USC is SO expensive and isn’t worth the money for California residents.</p>
<p>I don’t like liberal arts colleges. Their small size just… bothers me.</p>

<p>I hate all prep schools.</p>
<p>Harvard-Westlake, Andover, Exeter, Lawrenceville, etc. I’m not going to generalize, but those schools carry about an aura of pretentiousness and have a lot of snobs.</p>
<p>I hate Bob Jones’ University. They don’t accept blacks and are against interracial dating (they’re a private institution and are allowed to discriminate).</p>
<p>^ Actually, they do accept blacks and the ban on interracial dating was lifted 10 years ago. Not that people are really allowed to date there anyways… I share in your extreme dislike of them though. I get a kick out of reading their policies though.</p>

<p>Have you actually BEEN to any of those schools? I have and they most certainly DON’T have an aura of pretentiousness (I’m not sure about Harvard-Westlake though) Most of those schools preach diversity into the ground and have a bazillion of nice people. Maybe the few you met were snobby, maybe you should meet more of them.</p>
<p>Also, we’re talking universities/colleges here- NOT boarding schools.</p>

<p>I don’t have respect for NYU. It is a good university, but the administration is incredibly anti-student. There’s a reason why their endowments are so low - alumni don’t want to give back to the school.</p>
<p>Quinnipiac. They send me letters telling me “How to Have a Life in High School.”</p>

<p>I REALLY hate OSU because I got rescinded. I hate UWash-Seattle because they rejected me. I hate Syracuse because they rejected me. I hate Indiana University because they rejected me. I hate Penn State because they rejected me. I hate FSU because they rejected me. I kinda hate U Kentucky because they waitlisted me. I hate UMaine because it’s part II of my high school. I hate Notre Dame because this one girl I don’t like is going there. I hare Duke because of their basketball team.</p>
