Another fan of the trees. Warmed up the cavernous place.

Anyone else here love the music? The choirboys were adorable, and I loved loved LOVED that they used Crown Imperial as the recessional, I have played that piece - it was written for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth’s father (yep, the King’s Speech guy)

I was one that thought that Kate’s dress would be more form fitting, like Pippa’s was - boy did their mother give them some wonderful genes!

I think that the brother did a good job with his reading as well, that was a nice touch

…and the line during the sermon about not “re-forming” the other? said a hell yeah to that, gotta watch the tape and hear that again

I think it must be the oddest feeling to be the queen when they sing “God Save the Queen”. Even her husband sings… but she just stands there. I know she is used to it after all these years, but I bet it feels really strange the first time.

Right away I thought that the “This is the Day” choral piece must be by John Rutter. I had to google, and sure enough, it was. I liked the music overall. I agree about the re-forming part of the sermon. Very, very true.

toledo, thanks for the link. Prince Andrew looks so uncomfortable standing there with his 2 daughters. It is difficult to believe professionals put together those outfits.

I liked the understated elegance of the MOB’s outfit and Pippa looked stunning too.

RE: the John Rutter piece. H was fine with me turning on the TV so early to watch. I thought he was asleep when the ceremony began but when heard the choir he mumbled in his half-asleep voice, “we’ve sung that piece”.

Agree, the music overall was just perfect.

I’d forgotten about the wedding until I turned on the news this morning, so it was on when I was getting ready for work. Two comments.

First, when the Will and Kate made their vows, was Will trying to keep from smiling when Kate was repeating all his names? I had the impression - maybe my imagination - that they had some private joke about whether Kate was going to remember all of them, because I’ll swear he was trying to stifle a smile.

Second, I noticed the same thing intparent did. I have to admit I have always wondered if the Queen signs the national anthem. It is after all, the anthem. But how do you sing “God save me” ? So now I know: she doesn’t sing it.

hayden - remember that Di flubbed Charles’ names during their ceremony so I’m sure that was discussed. I thought there was a bit of a smile as well.

I saw a picture of Prince Harry’s date and she looked sloppy, messy and trampy.

Loved Kate’s dress. Loved Pippa’s dress. Loved all the little kids. Loved the Queen’s cheerful yellow outfit. Loved cheeky Harry. Loved the trees in the Abbey. Loved the two kisses. Loved the Aston-Martin.

What a perfect wedding!! So happy for them. Somewhere, Diana is smiling… : -)

zoos, I think Harry’s girlfriend’s grooming is always bad (every photo I’ve seen of her). She’s in desperate need of a hairstylist and grooming instruction. Probably a make-up makeover as well. However, I thought the style of her dress was quite sophisticated and did fit her well.

I thought Andrew’s/Sarah’s daughters were an embarrassment. Blue dress = major tacky.

But the rest: wow. Loved it all. Stayed up for it all. Wonderful.

I can’t believe I stayed up (west coast), and only slept 2 hours afterwards.

Impressions:
Kate looked stunning, loved the dress. She has bearing, elegance and presence.
Liked how much she waved at the crowds on the way
Pippa looked divine in that dress, was very poised and handled everything beautifully
Impressed with their brother’s poise with billions watching him speak…I understand he
is only 23.
The Queen looked lovely
So did Carole Middleton…loved her understated elegance
Liked the trees in the abbey
Loved seeing Elton John and his partner together
Eugenie and Beatrice…wow what more can be said? I thought that one hat thing looked like a wood carving…and that blue/turquoise dress…ugh
The blue thing Tara somebody was wearing looked like a canoe stuck to her forehead and I was intrigued by how on earth some of those hats were stuck on their heads…gravity defying
Thought Victoria Beckman’s dress was awful, looked like she was going to a funeral…can she not ever smile?
What a shame Chelsy Davy’s outfit was so ill fitting and well…sort of dour
Always love Queen Margarethe
Enjoyed Harry and his sneaking a look and quip at William “wait 'til you see her”
Got a kick out of the “Whew” William expressed on arrival at the palace after the ceremony
Very grateful for the cooperative weather
Loved all the pomp and tradition

Loved “the dress” and Pippa’s frock. MOTB looked stunning. Camilla dowdy as usual. And why did the Queen need to carry that ugly purse?

Beatrice (the one in the pink) and Eugenie were their usual mess. Maybe Beatrice’s fascinator on someone else- like Victoria Beckham - would have worked.

I thought almost all the hats and fascinators.

Went to a party at 4:30 this morning. I brought the scones and English breakfast tea, plus there were bagels & cream cheese, strawberries & creme and Mimosas. Sine I didn’t get to sleep last night until after 1:00, I’m knackered.

I liked the trees.

I’m enjoying reading all the commentary.

I had a fun morning watching the royal wedding with friends. We had taquitos on china for breakfast; that’s how we do royal weddings in Texas!

Loved Kate’s dress. I think she hit exactly the right note. Same with Pippa and the sweet, little bridesmaids.

Chelsy Davy always brings to mind the same word; disheveled. She looks like a lot of fun but, my goodness, there’s a time to pull it together and that was today.

I’m endlessly frustrated with Beatrice and Eugenie. One is not thin like the rest of the royals and the other is very pale but that is no excuse to be continue fashion “don’ts”! I’m a larger woman with very pale skin and, believe me, when I attend an event I am a fashion “do.” I feel like I should write to them with some tips and ideas…first on the list, fire your stylists!

I really agree about Chelsy Davy. I saw commentary on her dress that was somewhat favorable, but the picture was awful. Disheveled is a good word She looks – sorry to be harsh – like a drunk party girl. A gallery of pics: [Chelsy Davy Pictures Chelsy Davy ?
Beautiful wedding. Earl Spencer (Princess Diana’s brother) kids are very beautiful.

As usual Princeses Eugenie and Beatrice are their usual mess; I can totally see Vivienne Westwood designsing such a mess of a dress, but Valentino should know better.

Did not see Princess Diana sisters.

Queen looked lovely.

Emilybee, so true about the Queen’s purse - god save the Queen from ever carrying that hideous bag. She tried to carry it like a clutch. Ugh, just awful. She should have stopped by a TJMaxx or something to find something more fitting for her.

BunsenBurner - what does she keep in it? I could make a few guesses, but anyone know?

I said a little prayer that I would never be required to don a substantial fascinator.

Just got a look at Kate’s dress for the evening festivities - very pretty.

I didn’t get to see it live, but my department is being moved to different offices over the weekend, and the boss sent us home early after the tech people unplugged all the phones and computers. Yay!

Impressions:

Kate looked like she was born to this role. William was the one who looked nervous.

I liked Kate’s outfit. Elegant, a bit understated, impeccable. Great dress. Nothing like that wrinkled taffeta mess with the ludicrously long train that Diana wore. I liked the choice of a relatively small tiara, too. I was afraid Kate would wear something that overwhelmed her, so that you would see the dress and the tiara instead of the woman, but she seems to know better.

Kate gives the impression that she will never make an ass of herself or those around her – something almost unique in this Royal Family.

Speaking of backsides, Pippa Middleton has the nicest one in England. Maybe other countries as well.

Kate and her family are so classy. The media make them out to be something like the Beverly Hillbillies, but they didn’t seem intimidated or dysfunctional in the least. And they dress better than most of the royals do. There was a photo of Carole Middleton standing next to Camilla. Carole looked better.

I sense a major scandal brewing, though. There was gross racial discrimination in the carriage procession back to the palace. Where were the brown horses? All the horses pulling the carriages were white, and the escort horses were black. I have visions of unemployed brown horses standing at intersections with badly lettered cardboard signs, begging for oats. It’s a outrage!
