Are you excited about the royal wedding?

Ha! I’m a horse person and I found myself watching the horses instead of the carriage. I thought a couple of them were going to bolt. I was surprised some of them were so “up” but then I realized they might like that look. It is certainly possible to find horses who will go easily through a crowd like that without getting all lathered up.

“Just got a look at Kate’s dress for the evening festivities - very pretty.”

I like it more than her wedding dress.

I loved it all! It has given me wedding fever…now I just need to meet someone! Such a fairytale…

They live a very opulent and extravagant lifestyles in relative peace and seclusion - what’s tough about that? They don’t seem to do anything other than party, unlike their cousins Zara and Peter Phillips who lead pretty normal lives. People give them a hard time because they’re spoilt little rahs, plus the fact their mother’s a money grabbing oaf doesn’t help either.

Lovely. JUST lovely!
Extremely glad to see a wedding gown with sleeves.
Thought the trees softened the abbey very nicely.
Pippa is beautiful–the best bridesmaid ever. (But what kind of name IS Pippa?!)

The tender way Will and Kate’s dad escorted her was rather touching–holding up her hand as she walked. Guess I expected the traditional escort–arm in arm.

Seems the trend toward wearing skin-toned pumps was received–several of the women–Camilla, Queen Elizabeth, Mrs. Cameron–work skin toned heels…Not sure why I noticed something so incidental, but these pics are fun to scroll through.

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/photo/2011-04/29/c_13852271.htm

^^ I believe Pippa is short for Philippa.

One of the tabloid news shows just had a little piece on body language. Showed side-by-side clips of Will and Diana walking down the aisle. The similarity of their body language was almost spooky - the shy, downward, look and the quick look up at the crowd…

I noticed that, too, but I figured it had something to do with not damaging the delicate lace sleeves on the dress.

I noticed the way both Kate’s father and William held her hand when they were walking. I thought maybe this was the English way to do it, rather than hand-through-arm?

The page boys/ring bearers were beyond adorable. They looked exuberant. The little girls were all lovely. I’ve never seen a maid of honor walk as Pippa did, holding hands of the younger flower girls. She did not have a bouquet. I suspect that these particular girls were very important to Kate, William, or the royal family, and this was they way they found to include them, when they were probably too young to be able to participate without “supervision.”

I had not seen Zara Phillips before; she is very beautiful.

Among the wedding guests were quite a few people of limited means. Shopkeepers from Kate’s village, representatives of Kate’s and Will’s charities - I saw two women walking in who were identified as being poor people from a homeless charity. Their dresses and hats were much more attractive than Fergie’s daughters’! And they were better groomed than Chelsea Davy. (Do you suppose she owns a comb?)

I saw a photo of Carole Middleton’s dress and hat - very lovely.

I do wish the men wore tuxes rather than military uniforms in primary colors.

I haven’t seen Kate’s evening dress yet.

Just found a photo of Kate’s evening dress. It’s kind of plain for my taste, but I like the little feathered jacket. Pippa is stunning in a green gown.

Maybe Harry will take a liking to Pippa? Wouldn’t that be something!

That would be amazing! She is beautiful and he is handsome and full of personality!

I loved watching the horses.

Thanks to all for posting the links to pictures. I just cannot seem to get enough of this today.

While I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, I am absolutely amazed at how well every little detail was orchestrated. There were no delays, etc. Everything happened almost to the second that it was supposed to, it seemed. There was no looking around at anyone with a ‘what comes next’ look.

Exercising the female prerogative to change her mind… about the trees. Now that I hear why they chose that, I’m all for it.

Anyone have links to photos of Chelsy Davy’s dress, Kate’s “after” dress, etc.? I didn’t see those and didn’t find them via simple google.

So why did they choose the trees? I would like to hear the story behind it.

^^ it was a “green” choice by Kate and William. The trees will be replanted. At least that’s what I read/heard.

And here’s a photo of Chelsy Davy’s dress: http://royalwedding.aol.com/2011/04/29/chelsy-davy-alberta-ferretti-royal-wedding/

I love the word, “fascinator”. I had to google it to see what it meant. I live in Texas and work at an engineering company - not exactly high fashion. I WAS fascinated looking at Victoria Beckham’s selection and wondering how it was attached. It looked like a giant zit hovering over her forehead.

Definitely an appropriate name!
