Ask Mike

"Why get an online degree when you can just go to the library? "—couldn’t get what u said.
Well, one of my relative has already signed up w/ them since it’s a bit cheaper or something like that. SO, I was just wandering whether it’s another scam university or not. (like whether their degrees are really recognized and accredited) Any comment Mike?

I don’t know anything about it. What I meant was, if you are just going for a degree and avioding the college atmosphere, you might as well just learn from the librabry.

or online .

Preston Univ. is actually online, alrite, let’s forget abt it altogether.

Mike, are you bilingual?

I’m sure U r RIGHT? (so arabic right?!)

Mike,
Are you in awe of Nostradamus?

Mike, there are two types of people who enter college: those who hit the ground running and flourish, and those who are overwhelmed and fail miserably. I know I am not smart enough to be the former and lack the work ethic to be the latter. What do I do next fall?

I am not bilingual, which is one of my biggest academic flaws.

asifkhan, i have little idea to what you are asking me.

Nostradamus, not nessecarily awe of his power, but in awe of his fame.

Ven - First, you are overgeneralizing, there are more than two types of people, in fact I’d say the majority of people are intermediantes of these two extremes.
However, I am confused by what you say, you are not smart enough to hit the ground running, but also do not have the work ethic to be overwhelmed, do that mean you work hard? College is about time managment. Figure that out and you’ll be fine.

mike,
Asifkhan was refering to me, I think. By answering my question and asking me the same one.
Yes, I do speak Arabic. And a little french - bot not as much as I would like.

Dear Mikey,

How can I avoid my band director? My sources tell me that he is still looking for me and I’m in no mood to feel his wrath.

quit the band .

Oh I’ve quit. It’s the way that I quit that started all this drama.

and how’d you quit?

Band is a big deal at my school. It is probably our best program. Now, if you have been a part of band, and decide that you want to quit, the teachers will hunt you down, take you out of class, and/or go directly to guidance and manipulate your schedule. You need to strait up confront this guy, explain your reasoning for quitting, and tell the guy to stop bothering you.

Communication makes people more reasonable.

mike, I don’t want to go back to school in 4 days. What should I do?

drop out /* dsakljadsfljdskl */

nah…I’d rather just give a fake doctors whatever and pretend that I was sick so they don’t deduct anything because of absenteeism.

Story time! This is the short and sweet version:

I’m talking about marching band. They talked me into joining this year even though I wasn’t even in concert band. I didn’t realize how miserable I would be.

I tried talking to them, but either a) they just would not listen to me or b) they would keep on insisting that I had personal problems (which I didn’t) and they would try to make me tell them what they were.

I was so bitter during practices because I thought they were a waste of my time. Finally, toward the end of the season, I gave up on talking and stopped showing up. I missed three games, 1 parade, and all the practices in between.

I didn’t think it was that big a deal, but my band director went on a rampage when he realized that i wouldn’t be coming back and has been trying to get my schedule so that he can find me and yell at me. I don’t feel like argueing with him- he has problems controlling his anger- so I’ve been avoiding him since (this all started in November). I paid my dues, so he should get over it.

like mike said, why not just talk to the guy and tell him that you loath the band and think that your time can be better spent doing something that would actually benifit you? If he doesn’t like it go talk to someone in charge.
